Are you in Manufaktura again? 2º part
As I said in the first article about "Manufaktura", (http://erasmusu.com/en/erasmus-blog/main/are-you-in-manufaktura-again-131859) this place is not only to buy food or something seemed, moreover, you can do many other things to enjoy any day in Łódź. But... What can I find in Manufaktura?
1st - Entertainment: There is a huge variety of entertainment in this place including for example its cinemas (a total of fifteen) where you can find the latest movies in market. Films are in english with subtitles in Polish, which say us why people in the country have a better ability to learn languages than spanish. And logically, In "Manufaktura" we can find a 3D display to enjoy best movies.
Moreover, in winter, it is created a skating rink where for a small price (and although I can not say the price right now, as soon as I can I will say exactly, because I like skating), you and all kinds of people can enjoy of it, know or don´t skating, but if you are not prepared, the best way to be is doing the activity.
In addition, we can see a bowling alley, in which there is an specific time commonly known as "happy hour" (17.00 to 18.00) when you have 50% discount, so, it only cost five zlotys per game (very very cheap, just over one euro), and of course you can put your name on the screen and the score will be automatically calculated (I say that because I have seen other tracks that yourself have to calculate by hand). There are enough clues, so it´s very difficult that you go one day and no free clues you find.
But, the place has a track climbing too, with until ten meters high, twenty-eight positions of strings, and near fifty different routes with different levels of difficulty, so, people who practise it think that "Manufaktura" is a good place to put in action this discipline.
Furthermore, we can find a gym and a park close to "Manufaktura", so we should not get bored there. Moreover, we also can see in one of the corner one casino that although I do not know what kind of games offered, I suppose it must be a complete one being in this popular resort (I don´t recommend this place, jeje).
Finally I have to name an activity known as "laser tag", which is conformed by a semi-closed complex in which two teams equipped with weapons that drop laser shots, fight over to get more points (logically the team that get more points win). The key is running around the area and shoot such enemies as you can in the chest or shoulders (which are the areas that score), and certainly not kill your team partners or you will loose points (even some people finish the battle with less points than 0). The price is around fifteen zlotys (or four euros) and the truth is that this activity worths. You spend a very good time and if you do some bet between teams will make everything funnier. Of course, after each round of ten minutes, the reception give us the point list for each team and each player to control the number of deaths and shooting completed (to this day is still a mystery how the scores are calculated, I don´t know what counts more, if going total attack and killing many people but dying more too, or else throw little but shoot well, being the number of kills worse). Finally I have to say that if someone kill you, you are "invincible" for a few seconds to let you go to kill your enemy.
Ahh and I forgot that there's also a disco which I've never been, because I think it is more for private parties where you rent it.
2 - Culture: The best thing about "Manufaktura" is that not only offers entertainment and fun, also it lets us to know polish culture as no many shopping centers can do. There, we can find the art museum, "Kinderplanet" (I am not sure what this is), the history museum of the city, the museum of the factories, and the International Centre for the Promotion of Fashion. Honestly I haven´t been yet in any of these places, because I have been here only two months until now, but sooner or later I will learn about this beautiful culture and unknown for us, and I will tell you if it's worth or not to go to any of these places.
3 - Food and drink: with until sixty different places to go in "Manufaktura" you won´t have any problems with food or drink. And here in this place not only you can find the typical small bars that we usually see in most commercial centers in the world, moreover, in "Manufaktura" are some of the best restaurants in town, as the best pieroggeria of Łódź, and one of the best restaurants called "The Mexican" (which I hadn´t the pleasure of visiting yet), or other that offers sweets as "Coffee heaven". I can not forget that for the people who prefer fast food, tranquility, there you will see Mc'Donalds, Burger King, KFC and some others, so the variety is huge and the prices are not very expensive, as in almost all respects in Poland.
4 - Shopping: Now I am going to explain one of the worst words that a man can heard about his girlfriend: shopping! Well, I´m sorry friend, but if your girlfriend says that if you want to go with her to "Manufaktura" you are lost. With over 260 stores, the problem is not that your girl want to buy something; the problem is if she wants to see everything because there is a mix of international brands such as "Zara", "House", etc and other typical in Poland; so, nobody can be bored if likes spending time on these issues. But there are also sports stores, many as "Inter Sport", "Nike", "Adidas", "Go Sport", etc. that will make the man also has his entertainment and can finally move from his embarrassment in a bra shop (not everything I say is about myself, but more than one boy I have heard that he is embarrassed when he accompanies his girlfriend to buy a pair of panties).
On the other hand, there are fabric stores, jewelry stores, bookstores, supermarket, electronics store or even antique shop or costume. In short, everything.
Finally I have to say that this famous "shopping centre" has received numerous awards including in 2006 "the best trade-related center and leisure in Central and Eastern Europe", or the award of "Urban Land Institute", which is awarded by an international organization that brings together experts in the field of human development and construction, the best European project in a matter of innovation, saying of "Manufaktura" that is a mixture of entertainment , culture and commerce totally innovative and revitalizing.
Many more awards received until 2012 that I will not comment, but they do that "Manufaktura" is something special in the city of Lodz, and not just a shopping centre.
What did you buy those days in "Manufaktura"? Who cares, the most important thing is that if you go to this place, it will be an special day.
