Are you in Manufaktura again?

Are you in Manufaktura again? This Is a simple question that everybody should make himself if read that in five days in the city of Lodz, I was there four days. Of course the city has more things to see and do, which I will explain in other articles, but in those moments after come here, it was logical that we had to buy many things (yeah, it must be something strange when a boy go to the same place in four of five days). Moreover, if only we had to buy food, we could have been to the nearest supermarket of the residence called "Biedronka" (a word that today is used by everyone, and that means in english "sissy", the animal , and you can imagine in what sense it is used here in Erasmus, without bad faith), and although its products are not very good, we go to Biedronka because truely we are a bit (only a bit of course) lazy.

But the food is not the main issue of this article because the issue is called "Manufaktura" (more or less) and the first thing I have to say about it is that it is located near the most emblematic street of the city of Łódź, Piotrkowska Street (as soon as I can, I will write an article explaining its history and how important it is for all of us in the city every day), and we can easily get to this special place from student residence located in the street "Lumumby", only taking the tram number fifteen. We will stop in freedom square (I don´t know how to say it in polish), for those people who prefer to arrive earlier but walking more; or at the next stop, which is closer to the place. If you go down in freedom square, you simply take the first right street and going completely straight, turn left and walk about five minutes (I hope no one says "five minutes walk is not close") you'll find "Manufaktura" just to your right. You can easily discover the place because its mix of orange and red walls are very popular (I'm sure that women would know perfectly specify the color), and also its large size and its watch in one of its building.

But as I said before, you can also come to "Manufaktura" stopping at the bus stop  after Freedom Square (its very easy find this place, because here you will see a huge circle with a man as a monument) , and if we choose this option, we just have to go straight the street to the right and then turn left.

"Manufaktura" is the biggest place for shopping and entertainment from all over Poland and one of the biggest in Europe, and was opened on May 17, in 2006 in the city (logically Antonio) of Łódź. It cost about two hundred seventy million euros (yeah, only 270 million euros), and the creator was a Swiss man called "Cipriano Kosinski", thanks to his contacts in the West led to "Rothschild Group" build this city's emblem.

"Manufaktura" was constructed during nine years due to the writing of the project, construction of new buildings (five years between both) and finally remodeling the old part that could be used for the new face of Manufaktura. It has an area of twenty hectares, with nine hectares of new building and nine point five of modernization (which makes me wonder, where are the other 8.5 acres?). The site chosen was the old textile factory in Lodz,  created by "Poznan Israel", one of the largest manufacturers in the city. But Manufaktura was not only a textile factory, the company had a factory with machinery, fabric printing, fire station, stores and even there were residential buildings for workers. And although the production is not based on labor division, "Manufaktura" is considered a factory.

"Manufaktura" is a place dominated by red bricks (which to me seem orange), and with the idea of saving the original sphere, the site maintain old buildings but changing inside completely. The creator, building this macrocomplex was revitalize the most typical activities in the industrial cities in past in Poland, but of course, with a touch of modernization to attract everybody and give them what they demand.

Talking about other thing, I have to say that one of the most popular attractions of this place is the hotel that is inside. It belongs to the Austrian company "Vienna hotels" and was built by an Austrian company also called "Warimpex" (logical thing, Antonio). This hotel is considered one of the best hotels in the city of Łódź, and has swimming pool for a not very bad price; jacuzzi, gym and other kind of things that if you want to know, you have to visit it (this Hotel have not contracted me).

On the other hand, when you enter to "Manufaktura", you can feel many different things, but I am sure that you won´t be indifferent; with an arc seemed to triumph-arc and with a mechanical watch in the highest point, of course, always on time. The reason for this is that "Manufaktura" combines history with modernity, using stones mixing with other London and Lyon bricks to achieve the result which the first architects of this project wanted: not leave anyone indifferent (maybe I´m being a bit exaggerated).

Giving you some more information, "Manufaktura" has about 3,500 parking spaces in total and has more than 600 trees across its surface. "Apsys" is the company which promoted the modern construction. But I think it is time to expose all of things that we can find in this site, so, at this way, everybody can get an idea of why a person as me can visit this place four days in only five ones. But I don´t like that articles are very long, so.... I believe that is better write the second part in another one to not get bored people.... to be continued!
