We came back Veco office with all preparation after a morning of interviewing c Nhung in Hanoi market and street.
Maarten conducted a quiz session where both Veco Vietnam and students could join together. The session with 10 pictures of 10 places we visited and specific information about that. Each team then passed their answers to the next teams for scoring. We then moved to An sharing about the movie but we had to rush to the embassy.
It was a great way to connect people in Veco Vietnam and volunteers as they worked as a team. Sometimes we dont know all things around us even we get used to it, especially when it comes to specific information. Everyone got excited about the specific question of each place that we visited during the 15 day trip.
It seemed to be so rush because our group didnt have enough time to share all things we prepared because it was time to go to the embassy. However, it seemed to be a good chance to experience a different thing during the trip. An then she shared our educational movie with the Embassy and it went well.
After the meeting in the group, I and Mike went to film so we couldnt join for the meeting at the embassy.
How do you approach a stranger and ask them for help? We had to solve that question while going for filming. Since Mike has heavy stuff for filming, so we took a taxi to go to a local area where we could film people eating. Mike also wanted to film a typical image of Vietnam which is the lady is carrying products to sell on the street.
We finally found a lady, not only one lady but two ladies on the sidewalk. We managed to park the car and tried to hurry up. I went to talk with the lady to ask for help which to stay at the same place and ignore our apperance to make it natural in front of the camera. She then ran away from us with a big smile.
I then changed my strategy and asked her that I could buy something from her. It didnt work. I used the final tip that we were volunteer and we were making a movie for foreign students to understand more about Vietnam livelyhood. She changed her mind and helped us later on and didnt want to get anything from us.
In contrast, we met a small kid who loved to be in front of the camera. She just jumped in front of the lense and ask us for taking photos and film her. And yes, we had some great shots of her.
We all later met up in an elegant place, named "Sen Tay Ho" for seeing again dinner.
And yes, thanks to the Jenny's song.
