10 Italian Artists / Groups you should know

According to my experience with the Italian language, one of the best ways to learn it is through music. When you listen to a group, a song or a genre that you like and even in another language, at the beginning surely you can't understand anything, but with the habits you'll mostly be left with coloquial expressions (which are the most difficult to learn) and suddenly one day, when you're least expecting it, you'll find yourself saying a phrase or a word that you have listened to in a song.

10 Italian Artists / Groups you should know

Precisely because of this I bring you 10 Italian artists/groups of different styles (that I love) and I think that, you should know:

  1. Måneskin. - It's a rock group from Rome, quite well known in Italy. My favourite song is "Morirò da Re" but in general, the album "Il ballo della vita", it's brilliant.

  2. Lemandorle . The literal translation of his name could be "almonds", but beyond this strange fact, Lemandorle is a DJ-singer-songwriter; which to me is very fascinating. I know you will love his electronic pop dance style and his simple lyrics. My favourite song is "Ti amp il venerdì sera", although they are all fantastic.

  3. Mahmood. The trap singer and Italian representative of Eurovision 2019, will hook you from the first minute as he did with me. I can't choose a favourite song, I recommend that you listen to his new album “Gioventù Bruciata” straightaway, I'm certain that with his trap style and Arabic touches, he will soon be an international success.

  4. Elisa. His single “Se Piovesse Il Tuo Nome” has been on the list of Italian pop hits on Spotify for months, I still haven't met a single person that can listen to this song without without it sticking and singing it all day.

  5. Levante. For me one of the big Italian musical discoveries, with a tone of voice similar to Alanis Morissette and some fun pop songs, Levante will enter your list of favourite artists to stay. My favourite song is "Alfonso".

  6. Ultimo. If you want to try and tell an Italian girl who Ultimo is, then you risk her bursting into shouts and making compliments to him. With his romantic lyrics and his beautiful face, this pop singer has stolen the hearts of many. Yes... I've also fallen, my favourite song is “Cascare nei tuoi occhi”.

  7. Pino Daniele. Knowing this man's music has been a pleasure that not only people who are crazy about music, like me, know how to appreciate. Since the 90s I bring you a renowned funky Italian singer; my favourite song is “Io per lei”.

  8. Jovanotti. In the pub below my house, they didn't stop playing the song “Viva la Libertà”, a great song that I'll carry in my heart forever and especially for those days when I become a bit hippie which give me the urge to fix the world.

  9. Emma. Someone who doesn't fall in love in Italy definitely has a heart of stone. Fall in love with me with Emma and her precious song “Mondiale”.

  10. Cesare Cremonini. The first song that I learnt in Italian has to be here, I dedicate you with all the love in the world: “Buon Viaggio (Share The Love)".
