Where to shop in West Chester?

Streets of West Chester

United states of America have no shortage of different types of shopping malls. The ones that have a special charm, are the outdoor shopping villages, and one of them is called Streets of West Chester. While Streets of West Chester are smaller than your typical outdoor shopping village, they have some interesting stores, and if you are driving between Cincinnati and Dayton, you should definitely check this place out - it is situated just off the highway.  

The Streets of West Chester shopping village actually has stores on the both sides of the street, hence the name. 

Where can you find Streets of West Chester?

The Streets of West Chester outdoor shopping village is situated in a close proximity of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, more precisely on the  9448 Waterfront Drive. If you are driving from Cincinnati towards Dayton, pay attention to the big fenced area on your right - you will have to  exit the highway shortly after you pass the fenced area. I will tell you more about what the fenced area is in the upcoming chapter. Once you exit the highway, turn right and keep driving until you reach a small parking lot.

If you are driving from Dayton, pay attention to the  blue road sign that says ‘Points of interest’, and a logo of Streets of West Chester will be on there. And this is where you have to exit. After you get off the gighway, turn left and then turn right after you cross the bridge.

The main parking lot at Streets of West Chester is fairly small, so if you cannot find a parking spot, you can park your car at the Main Event indoor entertainment center.

Shops and restaurants at Streets of West Chester

I frequently drive between Dayton and Cincinnati, but I have only been to Streets of West Chester twice so far. The reason is mainly that I usually shop at shopping malls that are closer to Dayton, which is where I currently live. But when I stopped at the Streets of West Chester for the first time, I knew I will be back again soon.

My favourite store at the Streets of West Chester is not even a clothing store - it is a bookstore, called Barnes and Noble. I am sure you have heard about it, and I love browsing through their selection of hundreds and hundreds of books. And they even have a Starbucks inside!  

I love shopping (or just looking at books) in Barnes and Noble. This is a part of their book selection.

One of a few clothing stores that I really like at Streets of West Chester, is LOFT, which sells more upscale clothing, but the prices are actually quite affordable.  

If you go to LOFT during sales, you will be able to buy some amazing clothing for about half the regular place.

Regarding the restaurants at Streets of West Chester, my to go choice would be Bugger Dave, which is a chain with great burgers, some tasty beers and low prices. Another good restaurant is Mitchell’s Fish Market, which is not a fish market at all, but a regular seafood restaurant. In general, Ohio is not known for great seafood restaurants, simply because there is no sea nearby, but I loved the seafood at Mitchell’s Fish Market.  

When I first saw this sign, I was sure there is an actual fish market inside. By the way, their fish tacos are superb.

And last but not least, if you feel like having some ice cream, head to The Creamery, where you can get the creamiest, sweetest ice cream in the area.  

If you love ice cream (who doesn't?), you will love this place.

Entertainment options

There are two really fun things to do next to Streets of West Chester shopping village. One of them is called Main Event and it is a big indoor entertainment center (and I wrote a blog post about it, if you are interested in learning more about this place), and the  other one is called Top Golf.

Top Golf is basically (almost) an indoor golfing area, and you will love it whether you are bad at golf (because it will be hilarious) or a golf pro (because you will be able to practice hitting golf balls). So how does a game of golf at Top Golf look like? It is more simple that you think, because, after all, this is not your typical golf place.

After getting all the necessary equipment, you will get up on a balcony - style structure. Make sure you get to the one that was assigned to you, because Top Golf can accommodate around a hundred people. From there, you will be hitting (or at least trying to hit) golf balls into the targets on the field. The better you hit, the higher your score will be. The golf balls are electronically tracked, so the score will be displayed on a screen next to you in real time. Pretty fun, right? And not too expensive either.

If you are in need for a quick shopping fix, looking to refill your batteries with some great food, or you are in the mood for playing some old school arcade games, I have good news for  you - you can do all these things at the Main Event West Chester. I can guarantee you that you will love this place.
