Travel with ERASMUSLAND

The best way to visit a country is to rely on groups that, other than " Erasmus parties", organize trips across the country, combining saving and fun. That's exactly what I did when I went to Coimbra.

The first weeks I was alone and didn't know anyone. By chance I discovered the Erasmusland page on Instagram, which offices were a few steps away from my apartment, precisely in the Avenida shopping centre in Avenida Sa Da Bandeira, 33, 4th floor, number 418. In the picture below, the street where, on the left side, you can find the building.

I went there right away and, thanks to them, I travelled for the first time across Portugal visiting Serra da Estrela.

The journey lasted one day and it cost exactly 15 euros, with which I basically paid the coach that dropped us there. Before booking this trip I made a quick search on the internet just to check if it was really worthwhile: I found out that going there by myself, I would have spent about 50 euros. So, I highly recommend joining these type of groups in order to really save a lot of money while visiting the country. It is a wonderful way to meet new people from all over the world.

I paid 10 euros for the subscription and it included a membership card which, not only certified that I was a member of that group but it also gave me a discount on drinks at the Brunn's Barn, a well-known bar in the city centre, next to Praça da República, especially popular among young people from all nationalities.

The card lasts one year and to get it, you just have to pay 10 euros and show your ID.

Moreover, they put me in a Whatsapp group on which future travel destinations and booking info were sent.

In the end, if you want to have fun in Coimbra, travelling and making new friends, I highly recommend joining this group.

Have fun guys!
