So here I present to you a little about what I have learnt so far
A week or so ago, I went back to the U.K. to celebrate the birthday of a very good friend of mine ;). In the measly 2 full days I actually got to spend in my home country I was able to fit in rather a lot! As I was gearing up for the trip, I was rather nervous that I would have culture shock on arriving back and because I was only ther for a short time, it would be really overwhelming. However, it was actually really lovely to just be, for a few days with some of the people who I am really close to. I had some wicked adventures in the U.K. from a lovely coco in Salisbury to breakfast in Bath and a good old fashioned Bristol rave and everything in between.

Beautiful Autuminal Bristol Aside: I was actually away for 4 full days but alot of that time was spent traveling by coach (an adventure in inself).
All in all it was lovely to be able to have a holiday in my own home country. I noticed things which I had not before and things which were familiar were somewhat more accentuated. For example, I really enjoyed wlking through Bristol early on Thursday morning (well it was around 11) and noticing how autumn had really taken a hold.
One friend asked if it was weird to be back? To which I replied that it was of course a bit weird, and perhaps the Amber of a few months ago would have been overwhelmed by such a sudden change. But now, I am happy living in the moment, for the moment.
Of course, this is only to a certain extent, because now I am back, I have had a pretty 'average' working week. In so much as it has been raining (alot), and I have had an exam and a paper to write (all finished now :))
I have missed all the amazing people who I know and love back in England more this week than any other time on this exchange. But what this has taught me is that it is good to live in and appreciate the here and now but it is also important and benificial to realise that it is the events of the past that have brought us here.
I have been taking some time for myself these past few days to digest the past few (crazy) months (and years). There is alot to take in. One of my favourite quotes is 'Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it'  -*goes to look up who said this like a good student should* Ferris Buller (hahaaahaha).... oh no is that really Ferris Buller! Well if it helps my street cred, I am sure I heard it first in a song...and it was a garage song! (teeheehee)
Also, a great song I discovered again recently, which apparently is no where to be found online, is 'Sewmehnee (times fly)' by Abdominal and DJ Phase from the album 'flowtation device'.
Please do listen to it if you ever get the chance! It is a lush hip hop tune. (And a great album all in all actually (yes I am working for him)).
My favourite line (talking about his first band): 'At the time we thought we were the shit. But when I listen to it now I see that we were just shit. But its the shit that helps the flower grow and I've matured from my manure baginings. And I don't smell so bad now I'm blossoming.'
A slightly more philosophical blog entry. I hope you enjoyed the insight into my miiinnnnnddddddddddddd.
