The internet is your friend.
One tool that has been very useful throughout my Erasmus Year is of course the internet, it can literally be used for everything from finding accommodation to finding out the latest Erasmus news. Before you start your year check to see if your university has an Erasmus Student Network Facebook group, and if they do, join it. Through the Cádiz Facebook group I found out about the Erasmus events where I met most of the people I know now. So here are a few links you may find useful for your Erasmus year in Cádiz, but even if you aren’t going to Cádiz I am sure there will be something similar available for you and your host city.
I am unable to post the link to the Cádiz ESN Facebook page for 2012/2013, I am not sure what will happen to this at the end of the year, but it is always worth a look, you may wish to contact people on there who have all gone through the Cádiz Erasmus Student experience. Feel free to message me for the link.
This is the Erasmus Cádiz website, which although it is not updated as regularly as the Facebook is still useful to keep an eye on, particularly as this is where you will have to go to book onto ESN excursions and buy things like Hoodies and T-Shirts. We have missed out on a couple of trips because they have gone up on this site without notification on Facebook. There is also a really handy calendar on there which details the excursions for the year.
In addition to these be sure to use websites such as this one and remember not to be afraid to contact people, everyone is in the same boat and no one will mind if you get in touch.
