The best parties in Porto are with WOP!
Wild Out Porto
The organization in Porto that helps Erasmus students having the best time of their lives!
What is WOP?
As I told you in my other blogpost about my Erasmus experience in Porto, I started to work with Wild Out Porto (WOP) about 1, 5 year ago. WOP is an organization that helps international students to integrate comfortably in the city of Porto (Portugal). We give housing suggestions, we can help you to find part-time jobs, we organize social activities and way more. We want to make sure that you are having the best time of your life during your stay in Porto.
Our team
Our team consists of current Erasmus-students that want to earn a bit of extra money during their stay. Besides we have people like me, that were ex-Erasmus students and have experiences to share, and want to keep themselves involved to make sure that the new international students are treated well and to keep taking part in the best parties in town. We have our own professional photographer (Flávia) who makes pictures at every party we organize and we have a Facebook page where you can find those pictures and more information about our activities (https://www.facebook.com/wildoporto/?fref=ts). We have our very enthusiastic flyer-team that invite students on the streets to come to our parties. Erasmus students always enter for free when they show their International student card! Besides we have our friendly people that stay at the entrance of our parties, to sell tickets to non-erasmus people or to give more information if needed. We have two great DJ’s in our team (B Mike and Andy Rivera, together known as “Badasses”). André is also responsible for the planning of our events, Mike is the manager of WOP.
Our weekly parties
Our parties are in the best clubs that are located in the city center of Porto, with great music, happy people, friendly personnel and reasonable drink prices: the best ingredients to have your perfect night out!
Our weekly schedule looks as follows:
Thursday: Plano B – JaMiT
JaMiT is nominated as the best Thursday night party in Porto. We always have 3 dancefloors with 3 different styles and a line up of great DJs. B Mike usually plays on the Cubo Heineken dancefloor and plays electronic music, together with another DJ that is a different one every week. On the other dancefloor we have Andy Rivera with Pete Divinus, playing party rock. On the third dancefloor (Galeria) we always have a different DJ, usually playing Hip hop, Deep house and Indy music.
As you can see, we have a little bit of everything! That’s why our parties are always very crowded. Besides, we all the time receive great feedback from our visitors!
Friday: Porto Tónico - REBEL ERASMUS WEEKEND
The crazy weekend at Porto Tónico starts Friday night and ends only on Sunday morning! Friday we have three different dancefloors. In the Up room they play Pop rock, in the Blue room they play House/Latin/Afro and in the Pink room they play Kizomba and Brazilian beats.
Saturday: Porto Tónico - REBEL ERASMUS WEEKEND
The next day, same time same place, we have Pop rock again in the Up room, in the Blue room they play Latin/Afro/Brazilian and in the Pink room there is Hip hop/R&B/Dancehall/Raga.
So, 3 days partying with a great ambience and with various music styles!
Yacht parties – When the good weather starts to come, we organize yacht parties on the Douro river. Yes you heard that well! On board we have the Badasses playing, a bar with various drinks and food and a great atmosphere. The boat trip usually takes around 4 hours. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this! Keep yourself updated about these parties on our Facebook!
If you are or will be an Erasmus student in our beautiful Porto, we hope you will join us in the crazy and best parties in town! Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any doubts or questions.
