Each writer uses his/her own writing patterns. Someone prefers to start with writing an introduction and then conduct research. The other makes a writing plan and then starts the analysis of literature sources. However, multiple writing guides recommend following certain steps thus making the process of writing more effective. Let’s consider all of them.

Step 1: Preparations for Writing

Few people consider careful preparations important even though 50% of the success of any endeavour depends on preparations. So, set your mind for writing and make these preparations before starting to work:

  • find an idea for essay/paper/article/book – you can be inspired by different things like memories, experiences or various situations. Keep the notebook with you 24/7 to catch ideas as soon as they come into your mind. Use imagination as a source of inspiration for a future masterpiece.
  • brainstorm – let your ideas flow, write down each idea that comes into your mind or visualize your narrative. Write your main idea in the centre of the paper and then make arrows in all directions to make a story.
  • make a writing plan – sort out your ideas and identify main sections of your paper. Write a plan and briefly outline what you need to disclose in these sections.

Step 2: Writing Process

Start writing your first draft after brainstorming, then make a plan. It would be better to complete the introduction and conclusion after finishing a paper. Don’t think about grammar, punctuation or word count. You can proofread and regulate the number of words later. Now write several body paragraphs according to the plan you made. Most probably, you will change this draft many times before you receive the final product. It’s very important to choose a good place for writing where nobody and nothing will distract you from work. But don’t settle too comfortable in a soft chair not to fall asleep while trying to complete the next passage. Open the window in the room where you’re working thus letting fresh air in. Allocate a specific amount of time for the completion of your essay and write every day until you finish.

Step 3: Make Final Revision

Revision can significantly change your narrative. Many writers use the ARRR approach to edit and revise their papers:

  • add content if necessary – you should check the number of words required by your instructor and adjust text accordingly.
  • rearrange pages – consider pace, flow and sequence of your paper. Ask your friends whether you need to remove some sections, add more or rearrange their order.
  • remove redundant phrases or words – you can check this using multiple online tools available on the internet. If you don’t think that writing is your passion, you can buy an essay online not only in Toronto but in other Canadian cities, such as Vancouver or Montreal. If you decided to struggle till the end, check if there is information overload. Eliminate several passages if the text is difficult to read.
  • replace some sections or parts of text if needed – add details to clarify your work and replace the sections that seem to be irrelevant. Also, check whether one part of the text contradicts another one. Ask your friends or family members for feedback, and then rewrite some parts of the text if necessary.

Step 4: Editing

Editing means polishing your essay. Read it carefully line by line and check the paper for grammar, punctuation and spelling errors. Also, check flow, sentence structure, clarity and repetitions. Editing seems to be boring, but necessary part of your revision. If you think that such boring tasks are not for you, hire a professional editor.

Step 5: Submission

Now the paper is ready for submission. Make a final revision and upload it on the website of your university. It’s time to wait for high grades!

You can use these steps when completing an academic paper. Writing process will become easier each time you complete a paper and gain more experience. Don’t be afraid to write – it’s easy!
