Tell me which type of traveller you are and I'll tell you what your prize is!

Having travelled and experienced adventure for years, have you ever considered how many types of travellers there are? I bet you've come across some of the most peculiar people on your travels, and the fact is that everyone is different, something that certainly also applies when it comes to travelling.

Have you ever thought about how you behave when travelling? A good group of friends is always made up of different types of travellers: the absent-minded, the enthusiast, the organiser, the party animal? Or the loner, who doesn't need a group to have a good time!

Let's look in more detail below at the types of people we might meet along the way, and we'll finish with a bonus. Do you have any idea which type of traveller you are? Can you identify your best friend from this list of types of travellers?

The planner traveller

Do you prefer having your flights and accommodation booked months in advance? Do you pack your bags a week before you leave? Then you are the perfect planner traveller. The characteristic of this kind of traveller is that they need to have everything under control: planned visits, marked maps with places to go, schedules calculated to the millimetre... Perhaps sometimes they go overboard, so much so that if something goes off schedule, they tend to get nervous and possibly lose their temper, in the figurative sense of the word, of course.

They are easy to spot at the airport, you just have to look for someone with a suitcase close to explode, full of "just in case", and wearing a hat "just in case it's sunny" and a raincoat "just in case it rains". If this isn't your profile, don't worry, but make sure you travel with one so you don't miss a thing on your trip!

The explorer traveller

This one is a flexible, enthusiastic and adventurous person. If you love getting lost in the streets wherever you travel, looking for restaurants that don't appear on Tripadvisor, going into abandoned places and asking the locals about the less crowded and more special places, then I am happy to tell you that you are the explorer traveller.

Explorer are not afraid of the unexpected because their trip is already a constant improvisation. Meeting new people and enjoying unplanned plans is their passion, letting themselves be carried along by the natural course of the trip, enjoying every hidden corner of their destination city. You will rarely see them travelling with a planner traveller!

The shopaholic traveller

There are those who can't leave a city until they have visited all the museums and tourist attractions, but this is not the case of the shopaholic traveller. The shopaholic traveller cannot leave without having visited all the shops in the city!

The shopaholic travellers will fullfil their suitcase with lots of souvenirs, they may even buy another suitcase so as not to leave anything behind; or he will carry your own if you have some free space.

He'll be particularly partial to artisan shops and local shops, but count on him to pop into Zara to see if he can buy something cheaper than in his hometown. "You go ahead, I have gifts to buy" will be the phrase you'll hear most often coming out of his mouth. If none of this sounds familiar, watch your wallet on your next trip, it could be you!

The lonely traveller

A huge backpack on your back, a map in hand, comfortable clothes and the desire to explore the world; these are the essentials you need to be a lonely traveller.

A lonely traveller is not an introvert person, actually, lonely travellers don't need a group to travel because they meet people wherever they go with whom to enjoy good company before heading off on an adventure.

Travelling alone is something we should all do at least once in our lives! There's nothing like travelling alone to learn how to be with yourself and enjoy your own company. In addition, you will face situations that will make you mature and learn to manage on your own, you won't have to depend on anyone!

The foodie traveller

If you can't leave a city without having tried every local dish, then you have the blood of a food lover traveller, aka the foodie. Your passion is to travel and discover new flavours, new aromas and experience new textures for your taste buds.

A food lover's favourite destinations are wherever the food is most exotic, so you won't see them travelling to destinations close to their home town!

The party traveller

There is that kind of night-lover traveller who only go out when the sun goes down, who keeps up to date with the parties and nightlife in every city they visit. They don't need more than a phrase to make new friends to party with wherever they go. That's the party traveller!

If you have a party-goer in your group, you'll be lucky enough to enjoy a free round or two of shots. If you don't... don't let it slip, because you'll probably be the one setting the Visa on fire for nights of madness and debauchery!

The messy traveller

Unlike the planner traveller, the messy traveller likes leaving everything to the last minute, forgetting to take the most important documents, getting injured or even getting lost at the last minute. In short, the clumpsy traveller of the group (I'm sure you already have someone in mind).

This type of messy travellers are easy to recognise because, despite their mess, they are always smiling from ear to ear. They may provoke the planner traveller more than one heart attack, but being this messy is part of their charm.

The photographer traveller

If there's one thing you can't leave out of a photographer traveller's suitcase, it's a selfie stick, a good camera and ten thousand harnesses to capture every last detail of the journey as it happens. Just be aware that the visits will take longer than they should, it's not easy to get the perfect shot and you may have to strike 20 different poses to suit the traveller photographer's tastes.

The cons? You won't be able to repeat outfits and forget about wearing your hair wildly. The pros? If you have a travelling photographer in the group, it's a great way to add a fresh and enviable touch to your Instagram feed!

What about you? What type of traveller are you?

There is no doubt that you will meet countless personalities along the way, with whom you will get along better or worse, but they will undoubtedly make your trip unique and unforgettable. And you, do you know what kind of traveller you are?

Answer the 6 questions in this quiz in less than a minute, and take part in the giveaway for a Samsonite suitcase! You have until 30th April to complete the form and register for the giveaway, after which the lucky winner will be announced. Best luck!
