Watching series might be like a full time job
When Erasmus life gets boring, and trust me it might get, I always turn to series, TV show and reality TV. As I told you guys in a previous post on how I spend my free time watching over 20 plus series on a weekly schedule, I figured why not and share with you a list of my top series that keeps me up at night. In all my life I only found one person so obsessed about serials like me and she was Cristina my ex best friend ( trust me this is another story ) she is exactly like me, she watches a bunch of shows that keeps her up and I know how is to be so committed into serials, is seriously like a part time job. First thing I do in the morning after I arrive at the Erasmus office is to download my daily shows and once I arrive home and my schedule is free I watch until late in the night all my shows. I know it might sound crazy but this is my hobby really, I always keep track what's new and upcoming and I also have a schedule app on my phone for all the series and release date.
And trust me if I had to blog about my serials I will win for sure this competition but since this is a travel and discover new places kind of blog I will just share with you guys some tips in case you get bored in Erasmus and want to catch some breath or just some free time for yourself. So I will be listing some of my favorite all time and what I am watching now serials, TV shows and reality TV shows. Maybe someone is leaking inspiration and still didn't find what they want to watch so hope this post will help some of you. Let's get to it shall we?!
What I watch now
Even when is about shows or series it can be pretty hard to categorize them so I will try to make 2 different categories so you will find them more easy and also share some websites from where I watch them online. So first thing first let's start with the series!
My top TV Series :
In no particularly order
1. Tyrant
You guys I just discovered this serial about 3 weeks ago, Seyda from the Erasmus office told me about it so I said to give it a try and oh my God I became immediately addicted! The show so far has 3 seasons and is about war, terrorism and succeeding to power in a fictional Arab country. If you are a fan of Homeland then for sure you will dig also this because the same director made this serial. I am so in love with this serial I honestly watch the first season in less than 2 days. From all the plots regarding series I guess my favorites are about terrorism and military things and as well as escaping prison or something like this. I absolutely recommend this series, one of the best out there in this time!
2. Narcos
As season 2 is about to start in less than a week I am so anxious and excited about it. I watched the first season last week and I love it. The series is about the life and crimes of Pablo Escobar the top leader drug dealer in the world and the political scene of Colombia between 1980 and up to his date 1994. If you are interested how a drug lord was living his life making 60 million dollars per day then this is the series you need to watch right now!
3. Shameless
A more family series this is a show I watch with my boyfriend Muhammet, we don't have actually the same taste in series but this one is keeping us tuned for sure. Up to it's 7 season starting in October the series is about an alcoholic father and his 6 children. The oldest daughter Fiona is in charge to raise them all and provide for them as his father is a loser. There is comedy, drama and life lessons throw out so I enjoy watching this series. And an episode is about 60 minutes runtime which is awesome. Worth giving it a try!
4. Kingdom
I am just watching the last episode of season 3 and this series is very different of what I normally watch, Kingdom is about UFC fighters who train everyday at the Navi street gym in Venice beach, California. Lots of fights, drama, drugs and a coach of a father who both of his sons are fighters. Nick Jonas is one of the main characters which makes this series so much good.
5. Homeland
As I mentioned Homeland before, this is a series with 5th seasons so far and it's upcoming season is starting late January 2017. It's about a women Carrie who is a special CIA agent in the Middle East, basically the plot is all about chasing terrorists and with a twist of love and drama. The first 4 seasons kept me so busy to finish them but the last season I did not enjoy it as much as they change the story and now are after the ISIS as they try to portrayed real life scenarios in the series. Hope the next season will be better, I am looking forward to it!
6. Game of thrones
As the whole world is obsessed with this series, so am i! Season 6 is finish and another 2 seasons are about to come within the next 2 years time. The wait is too much for 10 episodes I think and what I realized that the last 2 seasons were so boring from first episode until the 9th one and then final episode so much actions is happening that you cannot keep up. For those who don't know yet about this series, basically is an historical old times plot with a bunch of households claiming territories, a twist of science fiction and some zombies and some characters that are dead but they return back. All for a throne of steel!
7. Ballers
First I watched this series because of The Rock, Dwayne Johnson is in it and the plot is about a bunch of NFL 's retired players who are trying to manage their money into investing in some businesses. Also the son of Denzel Washington is one of the main characters as he play a footballer trying to deal with women, friends and demons. One episode is 30 minutes and so far season 2 is rolling. If you are a fan of The Rock than you can check it!
8. Vikings
As now season 4 is on break, I discovered this series back in January when I was in Istanbul in that time during the end of my Erasmus in Turkey. I know everybody was talking about this series so after I watched the first episode I became addicted. I sat home in Romania for 2 weeks and half and I finished 3 seasons. I still have some episodes to watch when I find some free time. The story is surrounding the legend of Ragnar and the Nordics, historical fights and the discovering of new lands such as England and Paris. All about the Nordic vikings and their Godds. If you are into Game of thrones for sure you will like this one as well.

1. Keeping up with the Kardashians
This must be my absolute favorite show on TV right now and for the past 5 years. I love the Kardashians and their entire family. For those who don't know basically is a reality showing the day to day life of a famous American family with bunch of children growing up. One of the members is Kim Kardashian which for sure you heard. Lots of drama and a public image life. Nothing to learn from it but you can watch it as for fun like I do! Now is going it's 11th season.
2. Shahs of sunset
Another favorite of mine it must be the Shahs, season 5 just ended and I absolutely love this one. It's about a group of rich Iranians who are living in Beverly Hills, they cannot go back to Iran as they are political refugees. They live the rich and fabulous life in the states. Drama, gossips and a lot of Iranian words!
3. Are you the one?
As I start with the MTV 's shows, this one must be one of the best. I watch a lot of shows from MTV as you will see from the rest of the list. Are you the one has 3 seasons and it's about 10 girls and 10 boys put in a house together in order to find their perfect match and win one million dollars if they get it right. I love this sort of reality shows, a lots of drama, fights, tears and love.
4. The Real World
I watch this show for over 8 years I guess, is one of the oldest shows on MTV which still goes strong. Eight strangers are picked to live in a house together for 3 months, knowing each other, drama, fights and bunch of gossips. It's 30th season just wrapped! And every time they do it in different cities around the States.
5. The Challenge
An MTV show and a continuing of the Real world basically. The guys from the real world are selected to compete in a series of challenges in order to win a lot of money. The challenges are real and they always take place in exotic countries. It's amazing this show, a lot of seasons so far, 28 if I am not wrong. Worth checking it out!
6. Catfish the TV show
I love Catfish. An MTV production is a show starting Nev and Max who are helping young people from America to find out to is the person who are they chatting with for several years. People who never met face to face but they speak on the phone or messengers. Some they are real but most of them they are not who they say they are. Great stories!
7. Bachelor in paradise
As I watch the American version of the Bachelor and Bachelorette, they made a new show called Bachelor in paradise where basically all the losers from those shows met in Mexico in order to bond and hopefully find someone to share their lives with. I like it better that the bachelor. Now is rolling it's 3rd season and is full of drama. One episode is 1 hour and 20 minutes and are 2 episodes per week which is awesome.
8. Ex on the beach
It's a British show with it's 5th season going now, about some strangers picked to share a few weeks on a beach house while their ex comes one by one every week in order to create drama and animosities. Sometimes is hard to understand their accents but is a good show!
9. Survivor
I love Survivor, I watch the American version and I am looking forward to it's 31th season to start in September. They always have a theme to every season and new locations. Survivor is a game of resisting and managing to survive 39 days on a remote island, playing in a series of challenges and winning rewards. Every week a cast mate is voted to leave the island. Great game!
As I still have a bunch of more series and shows I watch I think this is enough so far and probably you will get bored even trying to search them all. But I do hope I can inspire at least one or two with my list. And as I promised you in the beginning i will share two of my websites I watch this shows online:
