SEARCH ACCOMMODATION - what a nightmare

  Before coming to Bordeaux thought whatever place i was always easy to find a place to stay. There were lots of offers: hotels, hostels, motels and Airbnb houses ( and a lot of other websites like that ).
  So I search some and book a house in Airbnb only for 1 day. I thought that if I did not find a place to stay on the internet I would find some announces in electricity posts or in coffee shops, were going to be so easy.
  I arrive at the airport, I called a taxi to go to the house ( I know, I should take the train but I had so many bags and a terrible weight on my back)and when I arrived I rang the bell. A nice lady opened me the front door and showed me a little house in the backyard were i was going to stay the night. I arrived in the middle of the day so i thought that the stores were still going to be open for me (but i was wrong again). The house i booked was toooo far from the city ( if i knew it well wouldn't be)   and i took to much time and money to reach the city.
 When i arrived i was sooooo lost, I didn't know were should i go first, or what to do or even what time the train stops so i have to search for all the knowledge i had in french  ( cause french people DO NOT speak English) and ask for some information.
  I started for the transportation: normally Buses end at 00h00 and the train has a lot of schedules but the best way to move into the city is catching the TRAM. The tram normally ends at 2h00 am and have 3 lines: A , B and C that reaches the majority of the city. Is not expensive. You can buy just a 1 hour ticket for 1,60 or a seven or 10 days pass or a normal TBM pass that lets you use the bicycles too.
 I went to a place called CIJA (http://ww2.info-jeune.net/logement.html) that is a place that helps young people to find jobs and accommodations. There is a placard that has many offers about colocations, apartments and job vacancies. They had 2 announces of houses to rent so i call. I had a lot of trouble to call cause i only had my Portuguese number and the french number are like this 06 25 24 67 22 so i had to look on the internet how to make the call: you have to dial 0033 and then 9 number looking like this  0033625246722. I call and no one answered or even call back or responding to my emails. So I kept searching and I saw some colocation announces: no answer to. How hard could it be?

  Stop looking wasn't an option so I arrange a meeting with the girl in charge. She gave me a paper with lots of websites and other things I could put an eye on and I got out of there with my hopes high.

  At home I search a lot of websites:
the mostly recommend it was "le bon coin" (https://www.leboncoin.fr/) and the " carte des colocs". It's used by a lot of people and so I started to dig. In the majority of this websites, you can choose by village or by city and the bigger the search more results do you have. BÈGLES - BORDEAUX- AQUAITAINE (...). YOU CAN'T BE PICKY.

 I tried very very hard to have accommodation. I went to a lot of coffee shops but no one puts alerts there ( try in little markets because sometimes old owners put there).You have to ask to your colleagues in the school because sometimes they know someone.

List of the websites you can go:

* Le bon Coin                     * Carte des colocs

*Airbnb                               * Homeaway

* Uniplaces                         * Erasmusu

* Paruvendu                       * Housing Anywhere

* SEloger                            * immojeune

* bien'ici                              * logic-immo

i kept on trying in many institutions and I even went to CROUS (*1) again but my task was really hard.

You can always stay in an APARTHOTEL ( there's a lot of thems in the city and they have a litle kitchen, a bed and a bathroom, so all you need) or you can make like i do, go to COUCHSURFING (were you stay in strangers couch and some times you don't even have to pay) or YESTUDENT ( i don't know very well but is always better to sleep there that in the street) or STUDENTS ALBERGUES.

  Because my only task was to find a nice place to stay until the end of the night I subscribe a lot of websites and some groups on Facebook :

list of groups on the facebook:
*  Colocation Bordeaux                                                        (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1543507262579536/?ref=br_rs)

  You have to BE CAREFUL cause i bump in some fake announces ( like in the pictures ). They were from websites i didn't apply and never tried, they were beautiful studios, cheaper the everything i had always seen and there was no phone number and just an email. ( i will put some photos of it). They are going to tell you that for some reason they don't like anymore in Bordeaux and that you have to give them money in advance so they can really now that you are interested and book the flight. DON'T DO THAT. This way of transferring money is not to save and is a squirm. (see here )

  It took me entire week until I found an apartment close enough to the tram and Suggestion: If you didn't book an apartment in advance and you just search a lot of websites on the internet and still don't find a place to stay try to see a place not for the middle of September ( normally is the most hunted month but for the beginning or middle of October.

  To end the tips I don't recommend to go every day to Nexity or Foncia both immos in Bordeaux. They have a lot of announces in the window but they are already all boked. You are going to wake up very early to be the first in the line but they already sold by phone or even have. And there are so many immos in the Victoire and other places and only 1 percent of students find apartments like that.

But now i founf it and i want to help other people too.
