passport and id - Paperwork
I recommend you to have both: id and passport when you travel because if you lost one, you can identify yourself with the other. Maybe if you have to fly, you can do it in case you lost it one of them. I tell you it because one of my friends lost it his id and we have to go to the embassy during the night. What a mess.
