My experience sharing at apartment: To put it frankly sharing an apartment is something that all of us will come across at some point in our life. The truth is we're all students or recent graduates, still in the prime of life and that means we need to save money, what better way than to share an apartment with a bunch of others exactly in your situation. Before when I used to live abroad I didn't really live alone, as I was still underage and I lived with my family most of the year, this time around when I came back to Malaysia, even though just for a month or so, I decided to rent out a room in a shared apartment. Here are some of the advantages it had for me, the same advantages apply to you guys too.

The reason I live in different places all the time, is to learn about different cultures, to communicate with different people and find new friends. I'm sure that's the reason many of European students do Erasmus as well. So what better way to meet new people? I mean you literally come to live with complete strangers, co exist together and learn from each other. It's the perfect way of making friends and becoming more culturally acceptable.

Your tolerance level will increase I know at first sight that doesn't sound like a good benefit but if you think about it, it really is. I mean my roommates are really great roommates, they have literally never caused any trouble or uneasiness for me. But obviously there will be times when living with others will prove to be a challenge. You need to compromise and avoid arguments and all these will in turn increase your tolerance level and coping mechanisms.

It saves money. Let's say if you want to rent out a really small place in Kuala Lumpur, it costs about 2,000-3,000 ringgits more or less, it depends on which area you choose to stay and how are the facilities in your condominium. Now if you rent a master room or just the middle room you could pay something like 1,000-1,500 ringgits, which is like half the price and that my friend is called proper budgeting.

I had an amazing experience, I did not feel any discomfort as my roommates were very tolerable and minded their own business. Plus they were really friendly and helpful, I mean what more could you want. Thanks to sharing an apartment, I got to live in a really high class and expensive condominium, which I would not have been able to afford if I were to live alone. So yes definitely do try room sharing and who knows maybe your room mates could be your future best friends. That's super exciting, isn't it?

Cheers
