Moving to York

I like moving. For some it might be a nightmare, but for me it is just perfect. I thrive on planning what clothes to take and what shoes to leave behind, I book tickets far in advance and spend time before falling asleep thinking how wonderful it would be to unpack everything and settle in the new place.

The accomodation I got for rent is for couples and families. It was too expensive, no furniture whatsoever plus the contract is a year long (not an academic year), but back then I thought that was my only option.

It turned out that there are a lot of offers on the table when it comes to accommodation in York, you just need to start looking for it as soon as you can. You might want to try this webpage as a search engine for accommodation: rightmove.co.uk.

And do not be afraid, in the majority of cases, accommodation outside of university premises is cheaper and you won't have to go through all the terrible dorm experience (should your neighbors happen to be crazy people).
The accomodation on

campus west is a little older, but cosy, it you go for the campus west, the place is further away from the main university facilities, but its new and modern, and everything is just in the visinity.
One more tip for you guys:
If you need to buy some second-hand furniture or even get something for free, go to the Facebook page called 'Stuff for sale in York', or visit a shop called 'York Community furniture store'.
Cheers!
