Hello friends, hope you all are doing well.! I want to share with you all something that I consider will be of great use to you. Even if it is not useful for you now don't worry It will be useful someday. Traveling around the world is one thing that all people in the world will like to do and according to me at least 75% of the people will have this as their life time wish. When it comes to traveling it includes everything starting from packing upto your safety. I have already shared with you all a number of tips for a pleasant travel and so on. Today I want to give you some similar kind of tips but this time its not in General. These are some tips that will make your visit to India more comfortable. So let us begin.

India is a culturally, physically, geographically, climatically, religiously diverse country. Still the spirit of brotherhood and humanity holds India as a strong nation among other countries of the world. As you travel to India you are about to see only the above mentioned diverse features of India. But if you need to have a plesant journey without any troubles then you may follow the below mentioned tips.

  • While visiting India you must have the appropriate visa stamped in your passport without which you will not be allowed to enter the Indian territory. According to Indian law there visas are never issued on arrival. You must obtain the visas from the Indian Embassy in the country of your citizenship.
  • India is a vast country which will take years to explore the entire land however due to various reasons travel to some parts of the country is prohibited. Such areas include state of Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkin, Kulu and spiti district of himachal pradesh, borders of Jammu and Kashmir etc. If you wish to travel to this region then you must get permission from the authorities.
  • The standards of tourist hotels in India is constantly developing however it may be not upto the standards under some circumstances such as staying in a economic hotel. Make sure that you see the room before giving the hotel operators any kind of money.
  • The Aviation field has widely developed in India. There are both public and private sector airlines operating on domestic routes. The quality of the aircraft and the other factors are at its best in the country. Sahara airlines and Jet Airways can always be a better choice when it comes to domestic travels.
  • The service offered by the people are genuine in most of the cases. Humanity and service are a part of India's culture and tradition therefore you don't have to worry about the service.
  • Although India has 18 major languages and more than 1000 regional languages English is spoken by most of the people which eliminates the language barrirer in exploring India.

  • If you are about to take a medical insurance during your travel please make sure of your insurance company will make international payments. Most of the hospitals and clinics needs the money to be paid immediately for treatment.
  • Do inject yourself with all important vaccinations and carry a doctor's prescription about that you are vaccined. These certificates will be important iof in case you are travelling through an endemic region.
  • Keep an eye on the traffic as you move in the roads of India. Here the vehicles keep left unlike other western countries. There is no traffic discipline on the road and therefore you must take care of yourself. Be cautious always.!
  • If you find a place where there are a bunch of taxis or a taxi stand do not hire a taxi which is not among the bunch. The better way is to go to a distance and then hire a moving taxi.
  • While you do shopping in India do keep in mind that you must bargain. This is a regular phenomenon in India therefore bargaining can reduce the price and it will also give you a memorable experience.
  • In India if you are a foreigner people want to know more about you and your lifestyle. If you are not a person who likes these kind of things keep away from the people and express a polite body language that will express your thoughts.
  • Do ask for peoples permission if you are about to take pictures of a person, house or anything private.
  • Do not wear any kind of provocative dresses if you do not want the peoples attention to be focused on you. This will cause unnecessary problems especially for women. Do try being polite if you want the response from the public to be polite.
  • Knowing some basic Hindi phrases or the language can help you gain more respect among the local population. So try learning one or two phrases.
  • 10% of your bill money is more than enough for giving a tip to the servant.
  • Exchange your money in India only with certified money exchangers like cox and kings, thomas cook etc
  • Small thefts can occur especially if you are foreigner. Be cautious and do the necessary preventive measures like padlocking you travel bag while travelling in trains, keep a small amount of cash separate from the entire cash you have. Use the separate cash for daily use. This will help in minimizing public attention on money
  • Never leave your belongings alone and never keep your passports and other important documents in a easily accessible place.
  • Just like the general travel criteria do carry with you all the medicines needed, have your own mineral water model in your hand as most of the local water is unsafe for drinking.
  • Carry a hard suitcase as this will withstand more wear and tear. At times you can use this as a place to sit in bus stands and railway stations while waiting for buses and train.
  • Most of the electrical sockets are 3 pin sockets so do the necessary requirements with your cell phone chargers, computer battery chargers etc.

  • Keep phtocopies of important travel documents. It is advisable to take two sets and keep one in the place you live and the other with you. If in case something goes wrong this can help you protect your identity. Carry some passport size photographs with you as you will need it in many places.
