Italians like their food and love company, so after a long day’s work the perfect moment to relax and enjoy life is through an Aperitivo Cenato with good friends. They meet up and order a drink (it can be either alcoholic or not) which comes with a vatiety of adourable little snacks that characterise the location (aything from little slices of pizza or a mini pasta dish to a salad andd cakes). The time for an Aperitivo is between 18.30 (6.30 pm) and 20.30 (8.30 pm), dinner time for many other countries (in Italy it’s normally around 9pm)… and if you’re looking for something a bit more exotic and unusual, you can go to the beach and have a fish- based aperitivo while you observe the Adriatic sea on a Trabocco (a fascinating structure that is used for fishing and for which the Abruzzo coast is famous for), but you must book a table because they can get very full. After they finish eating italians either end the evening with a little walk in the city centre or by the seaside, or the decide where to go nightclubbing and have some fun! They say that “un’aperitivo con la tua migliore amica ti salva la giornata”(an aperitivvo with you best friend saves your day)… it’s one of the most characteristic italian lifestyle things to do!
