fiesta'ing like there is no mañana

We threw ourselves into the deep end and exceeded our comfort zones in order to meet new people and what was the best way to do this? Yes, the Erasmus nights out and events of course. We have met many people from across the world learning about different cultures and customs, also in having no clue in Spanish they helped us out and showed us the best places to go for a ‘Fiesta’ in Huelva. I would highly recommend any Erasmus student to get involved in the student nights, it’s not just all chatting there’s usually deals on many drinks also!! ‘Blue Ox’ is still my favourite spot to socialise and get a few drinks in Huelva although we haven’t been to all the bars this one truly stands out. Imagine this: 7pm, just home from Uni, you want to watch the beautiful sunset. What could be better than a rooftop bar which sells La Casera Tinto De Verano Limón for just €1.50? Blue ox is this imagination, give it a try! From being Irish it’s true that the majority of us just eat potatoes and meat every day- typical farmers diet, well I thought how will I survive 5 months with the Spanish food? We walked past tapas shops here, there and everywhere and believed that it wasn’t going to be for us. Well let me tell you, tapas are delicious! The tapas tour was a brilliant opportunity for us to throw ourselves into the most important part of Spanish culture and it worked out tapas and sangria go hand in hand, it was scrumptious and I’ll definitely be back for a few ‘croquetas de cerdo’.
