Traveling in new places fills you with excitement as well as.... lower or higher levels of stress. You print millions of papers just to find your way from airport to a mysterious location of your newly booked acommodation, use a public city transport in a constant doubt if you get the ticket pricing correctly and you even stop yourself thinking about moving around the city by the car, because it raises even more stressfull questions in your head. No way! It is so much nicier to feel relaxed and enjoy the country as you lived here for a long time.

Must haves: smartphone, full battery and local mobile internet.

1. Moving from airport to your selected mysterious location:

  • Uber - Uber drivers in Lithuania usually are very comunicative if you show an interest. They would be happy to answer your very first questions about the living here.
  • E-taxi - You might get a more silent driver, but you wil definitely get to your requested location. Also, be ready to have chash, not all the cabs can accept bank cards.
  • Public transport - NO, this guide is helping you to relax, so I would not recommend you to use the public transport on your very first day.

2. Exploring the city and moving around:

  • Public transport - Trafi - yes, it is cost effective and convenient everyday transportation.
  • CityBee - When you have spare time, take your friends and explore the city with your own car. It is also great when you can't find a convenient public transport route to your desired destination.
  • CycloCity - bicycle is an alternative way to get around and I would say it is really nice one.

Here was a quite small list pf apps that could be used for a comfortable transportation, but for a relaxed living it is not enough. Let me know what other challenges do you face in Lithuania and I will try to come up with some digital solutions. Cheers!

To be continued.
