Back in Bham/Brum

Birmingham, Bham, Brum, it doesn't matter if you call it by its full name, its official abbreviation, or the affectionate diminutive used by its inhabitants or by those who consider this city their home. I'm back in Birmingham on my Erasmus exchange after three very chaotic but fun Christmas weeks with less snow, less tea, more coffee, and more hugs in Spain.

When you return after Christmas, you find out that England still has that dump, rainy and cold weather you don't get used to at all. You also notice that again you almost die ran over by a car and that you missed English tea. Ah, of course, and that your fridge is empty again.

So, the first night, after leaving the suitcase in the house and taking a quick shower, I went out to have dinner with friends. We all have been arriving in the course of the week. First night: pizza, beers, and pool. We have had a good start to this new year.
