Why did you choose to go to Bilbao, Spain?
The location is fantastic, being close to the water was necessary for me and the school is located right on the beach. The cuisine in Basque Country is also an amazing reason to be in that area.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I did not receive any scholarship or help with living.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bilbao?
My program was very small and close knit. There are lots of young students to hang out with and there are lots of student discounts available.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Bilbao to other students?
Yes, it is great there.
What is the food like?
Fresh, simple, quality, local, celebrated.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bilbao?
No. I used airbnb.
How much does it cost to live in Bilbao?
it is slightly more expensive than other places in Spain. I chose to have my own apartment so it was a bit more than other accommodations.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
I did not speak Spanish before coming and it was not easy to learn. I did not attempt Basque. There were only classes available in the Spring semester. I paid for my own spanish classes.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bilbao from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bilbao?
Casco Viejo
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Bilbao?
Any cider house during the season. Any pintxo bar in plaza nuevo or abando.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The guggenheim. Hiking along the coast in Plentzia - Sopelana - Getxo
