What is it like to live in Bielefeld? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Very green city for the considerable amount of 333.000 citizens. The history of Bielefeld hold many interesting aspects that are still standing e. g. the castle. Many students live here and many possibilities to spend the evening exist. The streets are clean but the weather is rather miserable. April- September are the beautiful months of the year, the rest usually looks grey and wet.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bielefeld?

Good transportation.

Ugly university but lots of recently build adaptions (FH, Cited, medical facility).

Plenty of places to go in the evening.

The natives are rather cold-hearted and weird.

How much does it cost to live in Bielefeld?

From 180€ (room near university in ok-building) to 450€ for a neat unfurnished 40m^2 studio.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bielefeld? Is there any advice you can give?

Accomodation is easy to find. Start early and check every day.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

As a student we usually to go the mensa or eat pizza. For traditional dishes visit the nearby city Detmold and try "Pickert".

The boulevard for party.

Hiking in the "Wiehengebirge".

The "Tierpark Olderdissen".

"Kometsu" for the best sushi in town.

"Sumo" for affordable sushi and grill all you can eat.

Is the nightlife good in Bielefeld? Where is good to go?

The nearby city Herford has a club called "X" which is very fun.

The Bielefeld clubs are rather disappointing, but that's just my opinion.
