What is it like to live in Białystok? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Bialystok is a medium sized city, you can find everything, is very green and clean city, and close to the town is a picturesque forest. Podlasie and Bialystok is a magical place that is worth exploring.

What is the student lifestyle like in Białystok?

It's okay, depends on where you want to study. At the polytechnic and university should not be major problems with studies. It's safe to study and broaden their horizons, or party till you drop :) It's depends on what you want from the trip.

How much does it cost to live in Białystok?

Bialystok is a cheap city, you can rent a single room in city centre for 150 euro whit bill for month. Pizza or other fast food cost something about 2 to 10 euro, it depend were and what you eat, but for 10 euro you have a really nice meal. Beer in pubs and clubs cost 2-3 euro, in market 0, 5-1 euro.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Białystok? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it isn't. Rooms near the university are more expensive, but in the suburbs are price for room are lower. It is good to look advertisement in lokal newspaper or websites, then you have more choice, but all ads are in Polish, and it is good idea when you are in city.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is quite good, you can find here all kinds of food- Chinese restaurant, sushi bars, fast food, and restaurant with lokal and traditional meals. I'm a little picky, and I don't cook for myself, so my favourite dishes is sandwiches, if you call them dishes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Białystok?

Branicki Palace and park witch surrounds palace, a Museum of Military, Supraśl- little city near Białystok, the city bus going there.

Is it good to eat out in Białystok? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's cheaper to cook yourself, but if you want to go to pizza I recommend DaGrasso, or Pizzeria Los Amigos, near the Technical University. If you meat lover you should go to Sztuka Mięsa in Krakowska Street or to local called Naleśniki jak Smok, they have a really good pancakes whit different filling. I don't know any vegetarian places, because I love meat.

Is the nightlife good in Białystok? Where is good to go?

I don't go out often to parties in the city, I prefer house parties, but I know some pubs, where you can drink good beer: Zmiana Klimatu in Warszawska Street- they have many kinds of beers form local and world industrie, Alchemia in Lipowa Street, also have good beers, Pulp Fiction is also a nice place.

What advice would you give future students heading to Białystok?

They should have an open mind and a lot of patience to local people, because some people are intolerant.
