Belo Horizonte is one of the biggest cities in Brazil located in the State of Minas Gerais, in the Southeast of Brazil. As all the big cities, Belo Horizonte is a city where you can meet people from all over the world, you can have many options of restaurants, stores, museums, theatres, and so much more.

What is the student lifestyle like in Belo Horizonte?

As a big city, sometimes it's not possible to live near your campus, so normally the students must use the common transport which is very good and organized in Belo Horizonte. You can choose among several universities, since Belo Horizonte is home to the majority of the most important universities. In general, the campi are very big and posses a huge library, so you can go to the campus in the morning and stay till the evening if you want to. It posses also a restaurant inside the campus and it is very, very cheap! Everyday is a day of partying in Belo Horizonte, the city is known in Brazil as the Capital of bars, cause it is the city in Brazil which have more bars and they have a very good service, an excellent ambience (the majority has live music performances all long the night) and delicious food. So pay attention to succeed your exams!

It doesn't cost too much. Of course, living in a big city costs more than in a little one. But in comparison with other big cities in Brazil. Belo Horizonte is the cheapest!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Belo Horizonte? Is there any advice you can give?

Not too much. Maybe, it will be difficult to find an accommodation in the center of the city and more expensive. So advice you to look for accommodations near the campus where you will study and near the center of the city, even it is not possible to stay exctaly in this location. Pampulha's neighborhood is the perfect location!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is just amazing! The "culinária mineira" which means gastronomy from Minas Gerais State is known in Brazil as the best gastronomy, because it is very deverse and the taste of food pleases the majority of brazilians. After all, it not expensive, since you can eat in any "buteco" (bar) and delight with a delicious dishe. We eat in Belo Horionte different kinds of beans, different kinds of rice, some salted cookies, meat prepared in many ways drinking a delicious beer. It's even not necessary to say that you can find here the best "pão de queijo" (cheese bread) of Brazil.
