What is it like to live in Belgrade? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Belgrade is real European city, but with it's East traditional charm. On the crossroad of Western and Eastern civilization, gives a unique experience for every visitor. Because of it's night life, Belgrade is specially interesting to young population.

What is the student lifestyle like in Belgrade?

Education in the Belgrade University is very good, but there are no so much opportunities after graduating. Also, considering Serbia not as a rich country, conditions are bad. Beside all that, living like a student in Belgrade can be very nice, funny, cheap, and gives a great basic knowledge for later specialization abroad.

How much does it cost to live in Belgrade?

In comparison with other European cities, is very very cheap. Market prices are affordable, eating in the fast food, backeries, restaurants is much more cheaper than in Milan. Also rooms are incomparable cheaper (for less then 400 euro can be rented great apartment in the center zone of city).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Belgrade? Is there any advice you can give?

Is not so difficult, all you can find on internet. Everything is good organised on the web sites.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is one of the most important parts of Serbian tourism. Also is mix and consist of Eastern and Western traditional cuicine recipes. Most popular dishes are proja ( kind of pie/bread), pljeskavica (like a hamburger, but better) sarma, cabbage in so many ways, sweet pies, etc... can't describe, just come and try.

What places would you recommend visiting in Belgrade?

Depends of the interests. Favourite places are medieval Kalemegdan fortress, Skadarlija (old part of the city with Kafana's - traditional restaurants), splavovi (kind of clubs on the river, well known in all over the Europe).

Is it good to eat out in Belgrade? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, of course, it's great to eat out. Beside restaurants ("Tri sesira", "Dva jelena" "Dijagonala", "Zaplet", " Madera", etc. ) there are so many fast food shops, backeries that works 24h all over the city. I can recommend traditional backery "Trpkovic", fast food "Loki".

Is the nightlife good in Belgrade? Where is good to go?

There is not enough space to answer to this question... nightlife is main reason why people come to Belgrade, so...

What advice would you give future students heading to Belgrade?

Enjoy what city is offering to you, treat studies seriously, because you can learn so much and have a great fun!
