Snow?

I've always loved the traditional Christmas postcards where you can see huge wooden houses with big gardens and little lights decorating the front, all covered in snow. Well, now that I'm here and I can see the postcard in real life, I've realised that snow is not how I imagined it at all... How can so much ice form on the pavement? This makes the streets seem more like ice skating rinks! But even still, the city is beautiful. If you ever decide to choose this city as your Erasmus destination (or for any other reason) I recommend a shoe that does not have a flat sole, unless you have strong emotions (remember, here, winter really is winter! ).
