For many coming into Lebanon, its almost imperative to have local knowledge of what's going on around. Luckily, you’ll be able to draw upon local knowledge through posts such as these. Today we will be talking about a dynamic bar that has a lot to offer and is a great destination for anybody visiting the area.
I discovered this bar thanks to the invitation of a friend. Many of my mates living nearby the area would usually suggest going here for the night. I decided that I may as well check it out and see what all the hype is about, I was not disappointed. Located in Baabda in the Hazmieh area, this cozy and slightly hidden bar is a great venue to check out on any night.
Quadrangle primarily acts as a regular bar but with a catch. Its spectacular live performances. Let's take this enjoyable bar’s key offerings.
Food
This bar offers many great dishes to indulge in. From burgers and fries, to salads and pizza. The star of the menu are definitely their pizzas. Almost every time I end up in this bar we would order a pizza for dinner. Whether we had had dinner or not. Their most notable pizzas are the Chicken pizza, Quattro formaggi, Roast Beef, Pepperoni and Quadrangle pizza.
I highly recommend the roast beef and Quadrangle pizzas. They are full of flavour and of exceptional quality. Lebanon tends to produce several different high quality produce which is constantly used in this venue. No frozen pizzas in the oven at this venue. Their fries are also particularly good.
Music
This place is one of the few rare Jazz and Blues bars in all of Lebanon. They excel at what they provide. However, they are also flexible with their music genres. What particularly shines about the music scene here is their live performances.
Every week you would have bands performing on stage in the main area. The bands range from all types of genres and you would get nationally renowned bands to local bands that are sure to rock your socks off. The diversity in bands make it a great option to visit this place any week of the month as you never know what performance you’ll be listening to.

I also have a couple of mates in their separate bands jamming on stage. It's really an experience to partake in
If you find yourself with years of practice or any sort of musical talent, feel free to get on an empty stage and use one of their extensive musical instruments. Drums, guitar, violin, electric keyboard and more.
Alcohol
Their alcohol selection has expanded throughout the years. You could get your international beers such as Heineken to your local Almaza beers. Although the most important selection of alcohol are their cocktails.
In Quadrangle they like to experiment with different cocktails. Different bartenders can offer you new and off the menu cocktails to enjoy. You could get strong cocktails with character to sweet sugary cocktails with cream. If you’re keen to get away from the norm, ask one of the bartenders for the types of flavours you would like in your cocktail and they would be more than sure to get you exactly what you desire.
The venue
Lets firstly describe what the venue is like. Quadrangle is located right before the top of a steep downhill road. Once you enter inside you’ll be greeted by the warm and cozy atmosphere of the place Directly to your right you will have a lounge area with very pompous armchairs for you to sit down and enjoy a drink. To your left you’ll have a small hallway which will lead to a room with a couple of billiard tables for you to compete with your mates. Rather than going to either directions, you go straight you will be able to spot the bar. You’ll see all sorts of posters of different movies and custom designed number plates all around.

From the entrance, to the bar and the rest of the venue you will see beautifully designed art pieces ranging from pop art to portraits of famous artists. There were a couple of impressionist pieces and black and white oil canvases of the human body.

The area past the bar opens up to the main part of the venue. Here, you have multiple tables and seats set up for your pleasure. The seating area is strategically designed to allow all seats to offer a view of the stage. The stage is a medium sized piece big enough for several people and their equipment. The venue gives off a sense of coziness as you’re face to face with the performers. The stage also has a few guitars set up against the walls from the legendary Les Paul Gibson line to many others.
Adjacent to this room you have access to two billiard tables. This the area my mates and I would mostly frequent. It's designed in a way that makes it possible to listen to each other chit chat and catch up as bands would play on stage. It also affords a spectacular view of the stage itself, so you wouldn’t miss a single moment of the place. This venue also provides a dart machine for you to have a crack at with some mates. If you’re looking for something different, feel free to ask the bartenders for board games. Board games along with a tasty pizza and a few beers are a great combination for a decent night.

I highly recommend visiting this place. It has been refurbished and had additional and new wall art pieces set up by professional artists. It also offers free wifi service if you’re looking to plan your next step of the night or simply want to catch up with friends while listening to a band or over a beer. I can’t wait to return to this bar whenever I next visit Lebanon. This place is perfect for groups or simply if you want a chill night somewhere far away from very commercial and artificial feeling areas. The Quadrangle offers a piece of culture and a lot of character.
Enjoy the night and drink responsibly!
