What is student life like in Barcelona?

Barcelona is very popular amongst University students, so it has a young and fun atmosphere.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

Barcelona, like any other European city is expensive, but not as much as Paris or London for example.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Barcelona? Can you give any advice?

Personally, I did not have to find accommodation as I am from here. I would recommend looking online and visiting the accommodation. In the Philosophy Faculty of the University of Barcelona (in Plaza Universidad) there are always lots of flyers advertising flats.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes

The food is perfect. Mediterranean cuisine is considered one of the best. Paella is a classic dish but I don't recommend going to any of the touristy places (like Las Ramblas) because the quality is worse and it costs a lot more.

What places would you recommend visiting in Barcelona?

There is always somewhere to visit: The Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Las Ramblas, The University Philosophy Building (Plaza Universidad), the port, Barceloneta, the Olympic Park, la boqueria (Market), Palau de la musica (Concert Hall), el liceo (Opera House), the cathedral, the historic centre, el arco del triunfo, etc. There is always something to see!

And going out to eat in Barcelona? Can you tell us your favourite places?

I like all of them, but you have to avoid the places with lots of tourists because like I said before, the quality is poorer and the price is a lot more.

What places would you recommend to go partying in Barcelona?

The truth is that I don't go out, but there are lots.

Do you have any advice for future students in Barcelona?

You are not going to regret it, whatever you dream you can achieve it in Barcelona!
