What attracts you to living in Barcelona? Do you recommend it? What's it like?

Barcelona is very cosmopolitan. I totally agree that this is a great city to live, visit or just spend a few days with friends.

What's the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

The atmosphere is great and you can meet lots of people. We are outgoing students who share experiences together and learn about each other's cultures.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

A student flat can cost between 300 and 500 euros. And then it depends on how much you spend on food. I don't eat much, so I usually spend about 40 euros a week. If you go to restaurants (you're going to really want to go when you see the appetising food they offer) it means you spend more money.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Barcelona? Do you have any advice?

I live in Barcelona, although I'm not from here. There are lots of students that look for shared flats so it's easy to find a room. If you want to live alone, it will be a lot more expensive.

What’s the country’s food like? What are your favourite dishes?

My favourite dish is Spanish omelette with onions and bread with tomato and olive oil.

What places do you recommend visiting in Barcelona?

There are thousands of things to see. I have never run out of things to do. The most typical things are La Pedrera, La Sagrada Familia, or Park Guell. But the truth is that all the streets in the city are spectacular.

What about eating out in Barcelona? What are your favourite places?

Surf House Barcelona. To the side of La Barceloneta, there is a bar with a terrace that offers sandwiches to die for and lots of original cocktails. And the desserts... I can't tell you!

Taktika Berri, in the centre which is a tapas bar that's finger licking good.

Buigas, my favourite Japanese restaurant. From outside it seems a bit "crappy" as it's not at street level but all the dishes are really good and the service is fast and efficient.

Where do you recommend for nightlife in Barcelona?

The area of Tuset, Sutton and Bling Bling are really good places which are a bit more up-market. In Barceloneta there is Opium which has a lot of tourists. Jamboree in Plaza Reial offers rap music. The place is really good and the surrounding bars are also recommended as there's a good atmosphere.

Do you have any advice for future students in Barcelona?

Come and study here, but also have a unique experience and get to know different people! You will have good memories from living here, that's a fact!
