What is it like to live in Barcelona? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Barcelona is such a good experience if you are a student because there are a lot of places to go out at night and most universities have a lot of discounts in a lot of things to do in the city. In my opinion, the only bad thing that Barcelona has is the high temperatures mixed with the humidity in the air. But, definitely, I highly recommend Barcelona as a city to live.

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

If you are a student in Barcelona you have a lot of things to do. If you come to live here, there are a lot of places to visit such as la Sagrada Familia, the castle of Montjuïc or els búnkers del Carmel. The part of the old city of Barcelona is full of small bars with a lot of teen spirit, so you can enjoy a beer with friends there!

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

Living in Barcelona is quite expensive if you want to be more or less near the center of the city; but, if your budget is not high you can live in the farthest districts which are quite more affordable. Anyway, wherever you live there are a lot of metro lines that takes you everywhere.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Barcelona? Is there any advice you can give?

As I said in the previous question, living in Barcelona is quite expensive but there a lot of different neightbors thus you can bump into someone who is very empathetic with you, but you can also bump into someone who is everyday and every single hour annoying.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Barcelona is not a city known by its dishes but I highly recommend you to visit the different bars located in the distric of Barceloneta because they are the oldest ones and the ones that have the best food in the city.

What places would you recommend visiting in Barcelona?

I would you recommend to visit La Sagrada Familia, els búnkers del Carmel, Plaça Catalunya, les Rambles, the beach of Barceloneta, the Gothic Quarter and El Born. You can also visit the statue of Columbus.

Is the nightlife good in Barcelona? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Barcelona is good because there a lot of places to go and there is a huge variety depending on your style. The main district to go out at night is "Marina". There is one of the most famous discos in Barcelona: Razzmatazz. Around this disco there are a lot of small puffs and bars. There is also good party in the metro stop called "universitat".

What advice would you give future students heading to Barcelona?

Watch out in the metro in rush hour periods! Try to use the metro as much as you can because is one of the fastest transports in the city.
