Experience in Barcelona, Spain by Sílvia
What is it like to live in Barcelona? Would you recommend it?
If you like a fast-paced city then Barcelona is perfect. I would recommend living in Barcelona, but (in my personal opinion) only for a short time. Life can be quite stressful, but at the same time it's impossible to be bored as there is always something to do - and great weather to do it in!
What is the student life like in Barcelona?
There is a great student life and atmosphere. The best night out for students is on Thursdays.
How expensive is it to live in Barcelona?
It costs around 500 euros per month.
Did you struggle to find accommodation in Barcelona? Have you got any advice you could offer?
I did find it a little difficult. I would advise that, if possible, you deal with landlords directly because the agencies are a scam.
What is the local food like? Which are your favourite dishes?
The food is amazing and there is a huge variety (traditional Catalan cuisine, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Thai, Indian... ).
Which are the best places to visit in Barcelona?
Los Búnkers del Carmel - you get amazing views of the whole of Barcelona.
And which are your favourite places to go to for food?
There are loads of places! One of my favourites is 100Montaditos (it's tasty and cheap! ).
Which are the best places to go to on a night out in Barcelona?
There are lots of different bars and clubs (Ovella negra, Ryan's Bikini, Razzmatazz, Soho... ).
Do you have any advice for students who are going to live in Barcelona?
Make the most of your time and do as many activities as you can.
