What is it like to live in Barcelona? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Barcelona is a glamorous city that combine the atmosphere of living in a big and beautiful city with the charm of being surrounded by nature, either the sea or the mountains. It a place that never sleeps and that offers you the possibility to arrange plans in many ways, either by going sightseeing or discover new and enjoyable places around. For all these reasons, I strongly recommend Barcelona as a place to visit, specially for young people, as it's full of opportunities to enjoy and have fun.
What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?
People in Barcelona usually work hard during day but enjoy hanging out at night and having fun.
How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?
It's not a cheap city compared to other cities in Spain or even in Europe. In this sense, renting a flat costs from 300 to 500 euros on average. However, shopping and recreational activities are not expensive at all.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Barcelona? Is there any advice you can give?
It's quite difficult, as prices are high and it's a crowded city. The better way to find a flat is to look for one as fast as you can, as well as search specifically flats from students that rent a room.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
It's very nice and tasty! In the same way that other cities in Spain, you can eat and enjoy magnificent dishes in many places around the city. Not only that but alcohol and other drinks are also quite cheap.
What places would you recommend visiting in Barcelona?
It's difficult to say because it contains many places to visit. For this reason it's better to discover the city by combining touristic tours and hanging out with people from Barcelona.
Is it good to eat out in Barcelona? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
For sure, it's cheap and so tasty.
Is the nightlife good in Barcelona? Where is good to go?
Absolutely! There are many discos in Barcelona that open almost every day, offering thematic nights until dawn. If you don't like going to discos there's no problem, as there are many pubs and bars that also offer enjoyable activities and shows to take part in.
What advice would you give future students heading to Barcelona?
Don't hesitate to visit Barcelona, I'm sure it will surprise you in many senses. Don't be afraid of the lenguage or people, as it's a warm and beautiful city that will embrace you from the first moment.
