Experience in Barcelona, Spain by Arnau
What is it like to live in Barcelona? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Nice big and organised city! You are going to love it.
We have sunny days but take into account that as we are next to the see you will have relatively cold humid winter and HOT HUMID horrendous weather! Hahaha
What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?
Faculties from the University of Barcelona, UPC or UPF are well integrated into the city, so it's easy to move around. About students lifestyle, there are many places to party and to have a drink so if classes are too hard for you, just take a break.
How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?
I would say if you find a place one you are in Barcelona, and if you look around areas like "Les Corts" or "Poble Nou" surely you could find a rend about 300-400 easy, but if you are looking to find something before you arrive here or in other areas it can get much expensive.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Barcelona? Is there any advice you can give?
Look for anyplace near the metro L1 (red line ) or L3 (green line) or even L5 (blue line), those are the main metro lines and they will take you any place. Take into account that there are many good bus lines, check google maps.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
It is Barcelona, come on, good food everywhere! Avoid centric areas, but you can eat really well without expending much.
What places would you recommend visiting in Barcelona?
You should do: From Diagonal-walk all Passeig the Gracia till Plaça Catalunya-go on and walk all "La Rambla" (you must do a stop in "La Boqueria")-End up in Draçanes where the Port area starts.
Is it good to eat out in Barcelona? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Veggie: RASOTERRA
Elegant but with traditional dishes: MAUR
If you love Ice-creams go to CREMERIA TOSCANA (okey... yes it is Italian, but the best Italian gelato place in Barcelona)
Is the nightlife good in Barcelona? Where is good to go?
Go to the Barceloneta, near the Casino you will find some clubs, but you should go to Razzmatazz too, which is more inner-city.
If you are looking for nice views from the city go around Lesseps and take a taxi to "Mirablau" o "Mirabé" best views from the top of Barcelona while you have a bier.
What advice would you give future students heading to Barcelona?
Search some facebook groups, we don't use facebook that much in Barcelona but surely you can get in touch with locals! And if it's 2019 I'll be there to have a beer!
