Experience in Barcelona, Spain, by Alexandra
What do you think of Barcelona as a place to live? Would you recommend it? How is it?
Barcelona is always a very good place to live, especially when you want to get to know new people from all over the world. Barcelona is primarily characterized by its numerous emblematic buildings. There are few parks but many places where you can take a stroll by the beach. I really recommend it, even though in the center there aren't many parks, if you go toward the outskirts there are many mountains where people can go jogging.
How is the student atmosphere in Barcelona?
Very good, there is always some activity to do during the weekend. There are also daily parties in the "vila olímpica" neighborhood and in the center. On the other hand, there are also several tandems hosting language exchange meetings.
How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?
Food is not very expensive, but if you want to find good housing it can be a bit more expensive.
How is the local food? What are your favorite dishes?
The best dishes that you can find here are patatas bravas and sandwiches.
What would you recommend visiting in Barcelona?
Parc Gúell, Sagrada Família, Laberint d'Horta, Ramblas, Gotico, Rabal, Barceloneta Beach, Tibidabo, Collserola.
Where would you recommend going to party in Barcelona?
Vila Olímpica
Do you have any advice for future students going to Barcelona?
Enjoy the beach, get to know many people, be careful with your cell phones and purses when going out to party. Go out as much as possible and visit all the parks and buildings, especially the Gaudi ones.
