What is it like to live in Barcelona? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Great city. Friendly people. Nice weather. The city offers a wide variety of entertainment activities. If you like partying this is your city. It offers also a wide variety of prices in te gastronomy, partying and entertainment. What you have to do is avoid places auch as las ramblas to have a meal, as the restaurants in that part of the city are really expensive and their quality is really low,

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

It's really good, but if you come from the states the idea of campus college is really different, except if you are in the autonoma university, the other campuses are just a building or 2. In the autonoma the environment is really different as it offers you a hairdresser, vet, residence halls but is 20 minutes away from the city. The rest of the universities are placed inside the city

It's not a cheap city but it's cheaper than cities like London or Paris. You can have a coffe for 1.5 euros or a coke for 2 euros in a cafeteria/bar, which is unthinkable in other european cities

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Barcelona? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't know much about the accommodation or reasidence halls. All i know is that all mu foreign friends had no problem renting a flat and the prices are more or less cheap.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In the city you can find different tipes of restaurants, such as italian, japanese (we have one of the best japanese restaurants in europe), tai, argentinian... My favourite dish is or spanish omelette or bravas (spicy potatoes). The best bravas in town are from bar tomas in sarrià if you com to barcelona this is an oblied stop. Best gastronomy. Spanish food rocks.

Is it good to eat out in Barcelona? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Is you look for cheap places la botiga or bella donna are great spots. Mamrosa beach, meatpacking bistro or bimba's are a more expensive but delishious. We also, although it's not a tipical dish from spain we have a wide variety of cupcake spots.

Is the nightlife good in Barcelona? Where is good to go?

Really good. The part of the beach or Aribau offers the most trendy and fashionable party lifestyle.

What advice would you give future students heading to Barcelona?

You have to enjoy the city, try all the tipical dishes, party in the beach and be ready for a really hot summer (which can sometimes last until the end of november). And if you can visit the nearby villages or go to the different ski stations in the pyrenees.
