Why did you choose to go to Barcelona, Spain?

One of the few options available for me to practise my internship abroad. Mostly the customs and the weather mostly attracted me.

Here they eat at way better times and are more outgoing than in Northern Europe.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My internship is for 4-5 months and I'm receiving 865 euros every month. This however is just enough to come by every month, my room cost is 423 euros per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

Great I can only imagine. Since I'm working 50 hours per week I can't help you with this.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?

Very student friendly, food is best and you can party all week long if you want to. Lots of different activities to do over here.

You can play a lot of sports, see a lot of things, etc.

This is one of the unique cities that can offer stuff for all sorts of people.

What is the food like?

The best ever.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Barcelona?

Great alternative from this site is Airbnb.

If you start looking for a room on this site I suggest you start early and keep an eye out for frauds.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

Depends on where and how you want to live. Studios start from 800-900 per month I think. Shared flats and apartments range around 300-600 euro per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Language can be learned fairly good if you have a course or some of the sort and try to speak Spanish with your classmates and Spanish surroundings.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Barcelona from your city?

By plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Barcelona?

Walk through the streets and see for yourself where you get stranded.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Barcelona?

Small bars in narrow streets often supply the best dishes.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Climb the Montjuic, see the Arc de Triomf or go to the zoo.

Everything is cool here.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Barcelona in the future?

Watch your ass during nights out and don't leave for your house alone as you might get robbed, as in every city and country is the case. Have fun folks.
