Erasmus Experience in Barcelona, Spain by Mine
Why did you choose to go to Barcelona, Spain?
I studied visual arts, and Barcelona is a culturally and artistically stimulating city.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My Erasmus Plus scholarship is for 6 months. I receive 500 € per month to help with my living costs. However, students should bear in mind that the 80% of the total scholarship they are supposed to receive will be transferred to their bank accounts before their arrival at the Erasmus destination city. They will get 20% of the total amount when the Erasmus period is over, so they should plan ahead if they are very dependent on this money.
What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?
Lively.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?
I would definitely recommend the city.
What is the food like?
The food is amazing. You can find a different taste at every corner of the city.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Barcelona?
Yes, I think finding a decent but affordable accommodation in Barcelona is hard.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Barcelona from your city?
By plane.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
I would definitely recommend MUHBA (Museo de Historia de Barcelona). Gaudi goes without saying.
