Why did you choose to go to Barcelona, Spain?

Because of the city, sea, art and culture.

How long was your stay? How much financial help were you given?

One year. I received a student grant of 1000 euros for the whole year.

What is the student atmosphere like in Barcelona?

The Catalans are very open and friendly. There was a lot of mixing in my university, lots of parties, art galleries, events...

Would you recommend Barcelona as a city and a university to other students?

Absolutely!

What is the food like there?

Good and at the same time greasy but all the fruit there is delicious.

Did you have any difficulties with finding accommodation in Barcelona?

None whatsoever with Erasmusu.

What is the cost of living like in Barcelona?

For me it wasn't very expensive but for a lot of Spanish people it is!

What was learning the language like? Did you attend any language classes organised by the university?

It was pretty simple because I had already been having Spanish lessons for many years. I learned Catalan at university as well.

What is the most cost-effective way of getting to Barcelona from your hometown?

Plane and bus.

What places would you recommend for parties in Barcelona?

The Olympic Port is packed with huge nightclubs but that's not really my thing. Smaller events and venues are best!

What about eating in Barcelona? What are your favourite places?

The small restaurants in Raval.

What cultural experiences would you recommend?

Just go to a lot of museums and events throughout the year.

Any advice for students going to Barcelona in the future?

Get ready for the best year of your life!
