For this city's multicultural side. As well as its culture and the patrimony it can offer, it's possible to meet absolutely every kind of person here and of all nationalities.

How long is your stay for? How much aid do you receive?

I've been in Barcelona since the 4th September, in order to go to the Pompeu Fabra University and I'm staying here until the end of June. For this entire period, I'm receiving an Erasmus grant of €2, 800, which is calculated according to the host country and your stature at CROUS.

How is student life in Barcelona?

The student atmosphere is super. Barcelona is a city which attracts many international students so at least 90% of the students here are full of motivation and the desire to discover it and make new acquaintances.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?

Absolutely! That said, you must always be attentive to how you live there: The Catalans are completely drowned by the mass of tourists. They will often speak to you in English by means of facility. Therefore, if you're here to learn Spanish, show them that you want to learn and they should make an effort. It's the same with the students: It's always easiest to communicate in English when it's a conversation between 5 people of 5 different nationalities!

Did you have any difficulties in finding accommodation in Barcelona?

I spent around two months looking for an apartment to finally land an excellent deal!

You have to take the time to look in the ads (or the agency websites online... ) and of course, to RING THEM. No one responds to emails! Equally, Whatsapp is one of their main ways of communicating.

How is the learning of the language? Did you go to any language courses organised by the University?

If you make an effort and live with Spanish speaking people, the learning of it will be fine and happily so. There are several language courses organised by the University for all levels.

What's the most affordable way of getting to Barcelona from your city?

By plane.

And what cultural visits do you advise?

All of them?
