Why did you choose to go to Barcelona, Spain?

I chose to go to barcelona because the qualification i applied for was either available in Barcelona or Madrid. Madrid did not offer any courses in English but, Barcelona did offer some courses in English. Apaert from that, Barcelona has really good attractions.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship is for 6 months. I arrived in December 2016 and will be leaving by the end of June. The scholarship offer 1000 euros a month, but for the first month of arrival, it gives you 200 euros to be able to settle.

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

It is a reñaxed environment, access to the library, intercultural interactions and learning other languages

Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?

I would recommend the city, i dont know much about the University of Barcelona because i attend at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

What is the food like?

There are a lot of bakery shops around, buffets. i dont reallty like the sandwiches because i think they are dry.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Barcelona?

It was really difficult to find accomodation, i was lucky to have a friend who is also a student. so i lived with my friend for a month and then was able to look for accomodation.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

around 250 euros going up, but it really depends on the apartment and how far it is from the city centre.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

No, im still finding it difficult to learn the language but i have learnt a few words with the help of language apps

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Barcelona from your city?

I use mainly the metro or bus, it is so easy for me and i learnt the instructions quickly.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Barcelona?

i really bdont know because im not much of a night person

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Barcelona?

a buffet in passeige the gracia, tapas

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Barcelona mountain

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Barcelona in the future?

try to learn a bit of the language. have some money to pay for your accomodation and meals until month end for the first month because the scholarship pays you after the first month of arrival.
