Why did you choose to go to Barcelona, Spain?

I liked the course content of my present school and its relationship with what I would like to do going forward.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Well, I didn't get a scholarship during my stay in Barcelona.

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

Barcelona is a city full of students. However, I live on campus so I cannot really say what student lifestyle is.

After being badgered by my friend, I have decided to add more flesh to this section:

Student life can be very interesting and you can survive with little or no Spanish as most of the students know passable English.

I belong to a band group called "Joves Tabalerdos". We practice every Saturday at Sant Adria Besos and we will be performing this Christmas. I play the Caixa or Snare in English.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

I cook my own food, and occasionally I eat out but only dinner. (I mostly order for Durum Kebab in the school restaurant).

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Barcelona?

Nope. My school advised me to stay on campus.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

It depends. For me, it cost upwards of 600 Euros per month and this would be a lot smaller if I found accommodation in a place like Sabadell.

I think your accommodation cost will take almost 60-70 percent of all your spendings (discounting the occasional spending spree you may indulge in), especially if you cook the food on your own.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are many language courses and if your course of study permits, you can really become great with the language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Barcelona from your city?

Book a return flight early enough.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Barcelona?

I have never done so on my own because of being a touch socially awkward and the nights are cold, so I have always cherished the sanctuary of my room.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Barcelona?

McDonald's because I am sure, I will like whatever I order there. A little caveat is important here. I am very selective with my food choices (even with my local food) so my recommendation or lack of it is going to be very skewed from the general population.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

I have not really visited one since my course is too stressful.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Barcelona in the future?

My advice for students from Lagos, get ready for visa hassles.
