How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is 1000 euros per month. That is sufficient to cover the costs of accommodation and food along with personal expenses.

What is the student lifestyle like in Barcelona?

Actually it's great! In a city like Barcelona you have everything you need. Every day you can explore and see something new. People are also very nice. I have enough time for everything, starting from my classes to traveling and going out with friends.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Barcelona to other students?

Definitely yes! Barcelona is a great choice.

What is the food like?

Spanish cuisine is very good. As for the Spanish food, I recommend the paella and sea food which is delicious. In the markets you can find everything you want, markets are not expenssives.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Barcelona?

For the first two months I lived in Halls of Residences, and all that time I was looking for an apartment. It took me almost two months until I found the apartment. And now I am living in a beautiful big apartment with my two friends.

How much does it cost to live in Barcelona?

As I wrote above, I have 1000 euros per month, so that is enough for living in Barcelona. I pay 320 euros for the apartment (with all bills included) and the rest I spend on food and personal expenses, like traveling, shopping, etc.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

As long as you listen and try to speak language there should not be a problem in learning the basics. Spanish language is very beautiful, at my University there are language courses available for foreign students and the professors are very good.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Barcelona from your city?

For me, the most economical way to travel was by plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Barcelona?

I could recommend night clubs like Opium, Pacha or Shoko, also some nice pubs or tavernas in Barri Gotic.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Barcelona?

There are many good restaurants, I prefer Bestial, which is close to the beach and Secrets Del Mediterrani.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are many, like Sagrada Familia, Cathedral, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, Casa Vicens. And also many museums like Pablo Picasso museum, Joan Miro museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, etc.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Barcelona in the future?

I would recommend Barcelona as the best choice. Be positive and go ahead.
