A quick stop in Barcelona
I have now lived in Valencia for 2 years, and I love the place.
Its sunny, very sunny, its not to big of a city and its easy to get around (bueno the metro system is quit easy but my experience is, if you ask people they will many times give you the wrong direction, simply because they don't know)
But every time I had to go back to Denmark (where i come from), I would ordere the ticket to fly from Barcelona, simply because its cheaper.
So I would always stay a day or two at my cousin's place who lives there. And I remember the first time I visited him, I was blown away by the Beauty of Barcelona (in some ways the same feeling I had, when I saw Valencia for the first time).
The nature, the city, the sun. We rented a scooter, and drove up to Tibidabo (a mountain very close to the city. On the top of the mountain, there is an amusement park, where you can see the whole city, and on the top of the amusement park, there is a church, where you can see even further)
I love Valencia alot, the beach is bigger than Barcelona, the weather is hottere than Barcelona in the summer (something I like) and though the city itself is completly flat, there are mountains all around Valencia. The architecture in Valencia can also be extremly beautiful (there use to be a river going through the city, but they dried it up and now its a beautiful park, going through the whole city. In this park there is a place called "ciencias y artes" where the architecture is really something).
But what I sometimes miss in Valencia, is the metropolitan feeling that is lacking. And though the beach in Barcelona is not as big as in Valencia, it is still a great place to have a summer vacation. I really think that Barcelona is my favourite city (:
