Today I have an appoinment with Mr Antoni Gaudi

  • General Information

Brief summary of Barcelona, I can sum up with a sentence: this is a place you can go forever, even  there are many times I have visited this city, I do not know boring. There is a thousand odd ways of exploring Barcelona, as well as a thousand and one different ways - from Barri Gòtic to the sea, a thousand and a thousand strange designs on each of Gaudí's works, a thousand An oddity when choosing a dish in a tapas restaurant, a thousand and one curious when dropping off on Las Ramblas ... like a thousand other reasons to stay attached to this place.

For me, I love Barcelona because it is the capital, the symbol, the soul of Catalunya. If you choose a zodiac, Barcelona is probably the Song of death. In every field, every corner of the city, like Gaudi's, has two parallel extremes. Gaudi breaks the symbolic, eternal values, beliefs and religions. If there was only one person who could build a modern Catholic Church of the 20th Century, that person could only be Gaudi. Barcelona, too, had the opposite of the large boulevards perpendicular to the chessboard of the Eixample, with labyrinth labyrinths in Barri Gòtic. Barcelona is a friendly country, but in the multi-culture of a port city for many centuries is still the gateway of Europe, whereas the Catalan characteristics are still strongly confirmed. The city, the head of the Spanish economy, with its thriving industry, is not a suffocating metropolis, but still very poetic to visitors. Rarely is a metropolis of Europe with sea and sunshine like Barcelona. And above all, the difference between a beautiful city and a marvelous city is the magical city that often has the hand of a human being left to its own mark. In Barcelona, more specifically, it was a child of Catalunya, Gaudí, who left a unique legacy that only Barça has. As mentioned, there are also thousands of different ways to explore this city. On our itinerary, wrapped up in a holiday on a weekly basis, we were like a myriad of other travelers, making the most of Gaudí's visit.

At the beginning of the opening, I would say only: no words or images can replace and describe Barcelona, the air felt when walking on Las Ramblas, the smell of fresh or deep fried anchovy, colors and taste in la Boqueria market ..and of course my admiration for the great works of Gaudi ... just by yourself come and feel.

  • So let's explore the great masterpieces of gaudi. : D

At first, I would like to tell a very interesting that that just after visiting Gaudi architecture in Barcelona, I have discovered a very great secret. That is Gaudi is born in Reus, which is a small city just 15 km from my beloved Tarragona, I have been in Reus for many times as my campus of Econimics is in Reus as well as I had been teaching children English in Redbull primary school.

Because I have seen the museum or kind of that about Gaudi in Reus, at first I just thought that perhaps because he was a great architecture man so there are many museums about him around Spain.

However, as soon as I found out that it was such a unique one , I started to read about Gaudi then I found out he was born in Reus.

Unbelievable!!!

So I would like to introduce with the first visited art of Gaudi which I had spontaneously visited when I was just going out on the street to buy some food.

  • The Casa Battlo

Then, I thought I saw something strange about a building, which is the highlight of the street is located at 43, with the Casa Battlo building, which the people of Barcelona also called the bone house. This is also a street called "The City of No Consensus" (Illa de la Discòrdia). Three consecutive works by three architects of the same time, all of them wanting to break away and be more impressive than others: Casa Lleo Morera, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner at 35, building Casa Amatller, by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, at number 41, just next to Casa Battlo, Gaudí's masterpiece.

Talking about history, this strange building was restored and remodeled by the famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. Casa Batllo is now the most visited site when visiting Barcelona. To be honest, the long queues of tourists visiting Casa Batllo I feel a bit queasy in the queue.

Many people think that the uniqueness of Casa Batllo lies in the fact that although the name means "House of the bones", however, when I first discovered the building material, the building could not really be made from animal bones, but just skeletal simulations.

  •  Casa Batllo 's special features

Casa Batllo's roof is like the giant dinosaur's backbone, the dragon was killed by St. George. All the details on this remarkable building are not in a straight line. You can see, the front is decorated with pieces of broken ceramic tiles, the color from orange to green. The balcony is like a pair of bones, while the inside looks like the viscera of a marine fish.

It can be said, Casa Batllo has reached the pinnacle of scale and architecture. At night it looks more and more magical, as the giant metallic fish is rising to the sky.

Looking straight from across the street, I saw the Casa Batllo with its lightly rippled facade, mosaics decorated with exotic balconies like the mask that was pushed out of the windows that made me think of the full skin, kind of  scales of a reptile. Looking up at the top of the conical tower on the terrace, the strange chimneys reveal Gaudí's strange taste.

  • Sagrada Familia,

However, I am really proud to have visited the greatest and most ambitious project of Gaudí's work, the Sagrada Familia. Who is the most indifferent to Barcelona probably know the Sagrada Familia, the world's oldest site exists. It was started in 1882, and although Gaudí said, "This work has no room for haste," then surely he could not have imagined that nearly a century after his death, the church had not yet. was built. There will be no words or images to portray the splendor of the Sagrada Familia, which makes us overwhelmed by its beauty.

At night I did come throught the church again so I took this photo!

Gaudí's imagination, inspired by the beauty of nature, has combined ideas as impossible. This is probably the least pityful place to buy admission tickets, the church is built entirely from the ticket sales, and the beauty here makes me worthy of the money, as well as feels the contribution. a small part into this masterpiece.

The termite church is one of Gaudi's masterpieces. But never before have I noticed the tiny pine tree in front of the church and the angel wings. A perfect happiness is the opposite of the painful suffering of men and spirits climbing on the dome. Perhaps Gaudi was afraid of hurting the gods on high, for his towering spiers of strange fruit shapes. I sit still thinking about how the tray of five other fruits is too late to be lost to the dark brown below. God knows what the genius thinks. I remember how many times I sat and looked at the picture of this fine church on the cover of my favorite book "Gaudi Architects", and today the dream came true, so amazing.

  • Cheap FCB souvenir shops near Sagrara Familia

After that, I did go rough the giant church and took many photos in front of the church. I visit many Football Club of Barcelona souvenir shops (FCB) on the left side of Familia, they had a great discounts on the FCB craft with just 10 euros,

I could not believe it, because other souvenirs of FCB were quite expensive, I guarantee that I had seen these same crafts with the price of 16 euros at the airport. After checking the quality of the silk, I decided to buy two as the present for my cousin and my younger brother, who is definitely a fan of Barca

  • Park Guel - Impression

In the works of Gaudí, my  another favorite destination is Park Güel which is A 17-hectare park on the hill south of El Carmen. Inspired by the tales of Hansel and Gretel, Gaudí's imagination and talents lead us into a magical world where the beauty of nature blends perfectly with the dreamy architecture. My first impression is with the entrance to the park which is lined with colorful rock paintings withdecorative dragon fountains. This dragon and most of the buildings at this park are the work of the famous Antoni Gaudi.

Then, I was also lingered a little but because of not only the walls, the strangely carved and luscious stone facades but also the top view of the mosaic floor. It is like the terraced fields are spread out in wonderful colors. The house at the park seems to be picked up from fairy tales

The park is also a great place to relax in a sunny afternoon in Barcelona. From Park Güell looking back to the city, there are always street performers playing real guitar, singing the whole song down, if you prepare another picnic, it's fun. It is sad that a few years ago, the Barrcelona government was no longer completely open to the park, but collected the area of Gaudi's design (the El Monumental area). The rest of the park is still open to the public. The two metro stations to get to Parc Güell are Vallcarca or Lesseps on Metro-BarcelonaMetro-Barcelona-5 metro line. The path up from Vallcarca is easier due to the rolling lift but it does not lead straight to the main gate.

Or simply, from the center, you can catch the bus # 24 comes from Catalunya Square.

  • To sum up on Gaudi 's Masterpieces

I have to admit that whether I like it or not, I am still fascinated by Barcelona's signature, butterfly-style architecture, still attracted by the romantic street lamps in the city.  In my opinion, Antoni Gaudí was the chief representative of the butterfly's Modernism style, inspired by medieval architectural elements and shapes in nature, and at the same time cementing new techniques and materials with classic craft art.

Moreover, I would tell your guys that there are many Gaudi works in Catalonia, Barcelona might be the hub for this art but there are many more in Sites or Leon, so keep in mind that in case you have other chances to visit other cities in Spain.

So wish you a great weekend !!!
See you soon with other articles writing about my Barcelona!!!
