Skipping a bit back in time and over the continents, the souterrain floor of the museum exhibits archaic weapons used in different tribes.

If I remember correctly, these spears, swords and bow and arrow are from the Eastern Mediterranean or Scythian. The shield with a bit "cut off" like Apple was also used by Greek light infantry (skirmishers).

The Bronze Age weapons (axes and swords) could be Mycenean as they are very elaborate.

These simple weapons (spears, sword and shield, javelins, clubs) are African and could be from Zulu tribes.

Again, African weapons, but with larger shields made from wood and leather for skirmishers. An African proverb goes: "A warrior is not a wrestler. When his spear and shield are defeated, he is dead."

The next section will be on Western weapons.
