War Museum 2 - Modern Warfare
The War Museum in Greece, the country being part of the EU and NATO (together with Turkey), also exhibits some modern weapons, among them some from World War 2 (see below).
Here's a fighting jet with the blue and white ribbon of the Greek airforce who have an eagle as their symbol.
This is a missile launcher, and in the background you see a historical warplane from World War 2 (looks like a fighter in the American style).
Here you can see a German railway gun in army colours for camouflage (one of them was the Schwerer Gustav built by Krupp which could fire shells weighing 7 tonnes, but it's not this model). The Nazis occupie Greece and the Acropolis, seeing it as the origin of white Aryan culture and heroism fighting against "unclean" invaders since ages.
German assault rifles and machine pistols complete this collection, as well as a tricky walking cane gun (such as James Bond waas threatened with). I tried my best not to come across as German ... actually, in a shop I was talking Greek to order some food, and the female clerk that had greeted me in English first (because I look like a tourist with my sunglasses, backpack and blonde hair) responded in Greek saying she thought I was a stranger, to which I responded in Greek that I was. Mission accomplished, learning the language, blending in and being nice ... just German things I guess!
Next up: Tribal warfare!
