Returning to the National Museum of Archeology is really worth it: Wonders of ancient technology and awesome artifacts are waiting for you!

For example proof that Nazis already existed in Ancient Greece, that's why Hitler and his companions occupied the Acropolis ... just kidding, the swastika symbol is of eastern origin (traceable back to Buddhism) and symbolises the sun. It was only re-used by the Nazis.

The Antikythera mechanism is an astronomical clock from the 1st century AD that has been lost for a long time on the ground of the sea. Just recovered and explained: It has dials for the sun and moon phases as well as eclipses and the Olympic Games (every four years). Neither later antiquity nor the Middle Ages could reproduce a similar device, it was not until the Early Modern Period that this technology was surpassed.

Bronze gryphon heads as decorative elements also serve as representations of power. This motive will be recurring in my photos because it was used really frequently!

Bronze helmets used by hoplites complete this collection: To the left you see the Ionian type, to the right a Corinthian type. Below, you see the tips of bronze spears (as the wooden shafts have not been preserved).

Another part will follow, stay tuned!
