National Museum: More Artifacts
It's not even finished yet! The museum holds treasures from millennia ...
This marble relief shows young men engaged in a philosophical discussion; remarkably, also women are by their side.
A bronze statue of a child (symbol of Eros, the god of love?) riding a horse dashing forward. How dynamic!
Here you can see golden artifacts: Snake bracelets (symbol of Asklepios, the god of health) and a small house altar alongside broad golden belts. Magnificent!
Stone amulets show a clear oriental influence from Egypt: The form of a scarabaeus (black beetle) is evident, and they serve as divine protection.
More Egyptian figurines with animal heads (the god Hoth?) are seen in this picture, alongside with flowery ornaments.
Another part will follow!
