4 things you must eat in Amsterdam
"I'll go back to Amsterdam for the food" - now I can relate to this sentence.
Here in this blog I'm gonna show you some must-try food in Amsterdam and where to find them.
Stroopwafel
Stroopwafel is one of the most famous dutch dessert. The texture is great and it is usually filled with caramel. It's perfect with a cup of coffee or fresh milk in the morning. But here in Van Wonderen Stroopwafels (Kalverstraat 190, 1012 XH), you won't find just ordinary stroopwafels. In this famous shop which is always packed by tourists and locals, you can choose between an amazing range of stroopwafels filled with chocolate, or hazelnut, or smarties... heaven for a sweet tooth like me!
Polaberry
Along the way we found this cute and instagram worthy place: Polaberry (Prinsengracht 232 H). Not only we were able to take pictures worthy of our instagram feeds; we also got to eat delicious strawberries covered with different kind of chocolate. My favourite was the white one. You should definitely try it: the sweetness of the chocolate and the freshness of the strawberry is a real match made in heaven.
Dutch meatballs
For our first lunch we had meatballs with fries as side. I can't quite tell you how delicious and filling these were. You can find this typical dutch dish pretty much in any local restaurant around the center.
Raw herring
And last... but not the least! We couldn't leave Amsterdam without trying the famous raw herring. It's a typical dutch street food that you can find anywhere in the city as well while roaming around. I thought I wouldn't like it because I'm not a fan of raw fish, but the combination with onions and pickles was just perfect. My friend didn't like it, we all have different tastes when it comes to food but this is a must try if you want a full dutch food trip experience!
